Galen Marek

Galen Marek, aka Starkiller, was the son of Jedi Knights Kento and Mallie Marek and born with an unusually strong connection to the Force. His raw power as a toddler was such that Vader mistook his Force signature for that of a Jedi Master who far exceeded Kento Marek in power and even managed to disarm the Dark Lord.

“I sense someone far more powerful than you nearby. Your Master … Where is he?"

Starkiller was the "photo negative" of Luke Skywaker having the potential to become "the most powerful Force user ever" and is what Luke would have become if he had joined the Darkside being a "top tier Force user" and an "unstoppable Force."

Starkiller's power was such that as a teenager prior to TFU Vader himself was barely able to defeat the boy despite his own immense skill and power.

"Vader's apprentice was both strong in the Force and incredibly aggressive. As a teenager, the apprentice was already more powerful than many Jedi Knights had been during the Clone Wars, and it was only Darth Vader's incredible power and skill that allowed him to defeat the boy in combat." - The Force Unleashed Campaign Guide.

As early as his second mission Galen Marek carried out some of the most impressive feats in the Star Wars mythos.

Sending an army of thousands of droids into Raxus Prime's atmosphere and creating a groundquake from a Force push.

"There might have been thousands of them. Deactivating his lightsaber, he took a deep breath. With one mighty exhalation of power, he blasted all of them-those in pieces and those approaching with needle-tipped fingers and vibrosaws upraised-out of the foyer doors. Then he blasted the rubbish piles after them. He kept pushing until a dark cloud towered out over Raxus Prime's hideous landscape-an artificial hurricane full of droid golems. When the foyer was clear, the apprentice straightened. He was no longer pushing with the Force, but the floor beneath him shook nonetheless." - The Force Unleashed.

Powering the hyperdrive engines of a downed frigate in order to move it out of his path. The frigate was so large that it would have taken him hours to get around on foot.

"He gathered the energy and directed it down his arms, into his hands. Blue light strobed across his vision as the lightning flowed into the wires and from there into the hyperdrive turbines. Groaning, then shrieking, the massive engine came alive. Damaged, completely out of alignment, and barely controllable, the turbine shook with propulsive power, then strained against the braces still holding it to the corvette's warped chassis. The deck kicked underneath the apprentice. He swayed as the entire corvette shifted. With a terrible sound, it began to move, plowing a brutal furrow through the surrounding rubbish. He could picture it clearly in his imagination and through the vibrant flow of the Force. As lightning poured through him and into the engine, it pushed the stricken corvette physically out of his path. The way to the Temple was now clear. When he sensed that it had gone far enough, he relaxed his concentration. Smaller discharges of energy skittered across his skin. There was enough residual potential in the turbine to keep it running for dozens of seconds. He had to get out of the corvette before it dragged him any farther from his goal." - The Force Unleashed.

-

The starship lay directly between him and the Temple and was far too big to get around. That could take him hours. He would have to either go through the starship, or move it." - The Force Unleashed.

Starkiller is constantly growing in power throughout the events of The Force Unleashed.

"He flexed his fingers, feeling stronger and different somehow." - The Force Unleashed.

-

"The dark side rushed through him, made him strong and resilient. He felt more powerful than he ever had before." - The Force Unleashed.

-

"His skills were not inconsiderable now, and growing stronger with every mission, but this would test his every ability to the limit." - The Force Unleashed.

-

"I'm not wearing out," he said. "The moorings were tough, but I feel stronger than ever now. It gets easier, I think, the harder you try. The Force is stronger than anything we can imagine. We're the ones who limit it, not the other way around." - The Force Unleashed.

-

"All thought ceased; his connection to the Force became deeper than it ever had been before." - The Force Unleashed.

As of his second mission to Raxus Prime, Galen believes he's already surpassed Vader in power.

"What was the point of being stronger than Darth Vader if he couldn't save his best friend?" - The Force Unleashed.

Starkiller was very hesitant about comparing himself to his master prior to this point even going so far as to believe that surpassing his master seemed almost preposterous but the feats he accomplished during his his mission on Kashyyyk and his second mission to Raxus Prime seemed to give him the confidence he needed to reach that conclusion.

"Then why are you here in his place? she had responded.

Because he could do things his Master could not. That was the only answer he would accept. He was anonymous and less likely to attract attention. He might even, one day, become stronger than his Master-although that thought seemed almost preposterous. How many people had challenged the infamous Lord Vader, Jedi or otherwise? All had failed. What made him special?"

-

"I'm not wearing out," he said. "The moorings were tough, but I feel stronger than ever now. It gets easier, I think, the harder you try. The Force is stronger than anything we can imagine. We're the ones who limit it, not the other way around."- The Force Unleashed.

On Kashyyyk, he destroyed the supports of a superstructure that stretched from the planet's surface into space ( an orbital trading station called a "skyhook" ).

When he reached the base of the skyhook, he was momentarily given pause. How to bring about the ruin of these six constructs? Their super-strong materials were designed to handle the stresses of holding the massive station directly above, against all the laws of physics. How would he overcome their resistance? The answer, as always, lay in the Force. The Force was beyond physics. The Force could not be resisted, when wielded by confident hands. The Force would always be sufficient. Turning his back on the body-strewn battlefield, he put both hands on the base of the nearest mooring. Closing his eyes and his mind to all forms of distraction, he imagined himself as one with the metal, permacrete, and stone. He felt the mooring's strengths and its weaknesses. He resonated with it, until it was hard to tell where his hands stopped and the mooring began. When he could achieve no greater focus, he reached out for the dark side and let it guide him. Energy came like a dam bursting, as wild as every predator on Kashyyyk combined but as pure as a laser. He tilted his head back and relished the wonder and terror of what he had brought into being. This was a power far greater than Sith lightning, designed for one single task. He lost himself utterly in that task. He became destruction. The mooring shook. Its more delicate components - nanowires, sensitive self-regulating systems, microscopic hydraulic channels - fused almost immediately. Once the complex processes maintaining its stability were disrupted, a chain reaction began that could not be stopped. Pressures mounted in areas close to exceeding their maximum load; hairline cracks formed and spread; a deep vibration sprang up that could not be dampened. The apprentice maintained his assault until hairline cracks became gaping rents and the vibration shook the world, howling material agony over the renewed firing of blaster cannons. When the first shower of boiling dust and pebble-sized fragments rained down on him, he decided it was time to step back and take stock - and to prevent some hapless stormtrooper creeping up on him and shooting him in the back. He opened his eyes and looked up. The mooring was barely recognizable as the same structure. Electrical discharges danced across its conducting surfaces. Ultrastressed permacrete flowed like treacle. Larger fragments began to fall and he batted them away with the Force, feeling no more drained by his exertion than he would have from a light run. He almost smiled at his accomplishment, but one stark fact sobered him to the core. One down. Five to go." - The Force Unleashed.

-

"The Imperials were rallying. They needed to be reminded of who they were dealing with. While crossing to the next mooring in line, he detonated fuel tanks and exploded ammunition stores. AT-STs cracked open like seedpods and burst into short-lived flame. He reached his target without encountering serious resistance and brought it down as he had the first." - The Force Unleashed.

In the very next mission he overloads a cannon with energy in order to send out a blast that will take down the Star Destroyer Factory over Raxus Prime as he doesn't have time to redirect it. The factory was "by far" the largest artificial structure that Juno Eclipse had ever seen, which would make it bigger than Darth Vader's flagship "The Executor" and the Kashyyyk skyhook. She compared its size to a "mechanical moon."

"The shipyard rose up over the planet's filthy horizon like some strange, mechanical moon. Disk shaped, with complex docks and cranes radiating from its outer edge, it was by far the largest artificial structure she had ever seen. Over a dozen Star Destroyers were currently in dry dock: one nearly complete, the others triangular shells at various stages of manufacture. Giant balls of ore floated near the station, awaiting refinement. Huge arcing sparks shot from the Star Destroyers as massive, complicated machines welded panels in place." - The Force Unleashed.

He then goes on to carry out his famous Star Destroyer feat after overloading the cannon.

"The sensation of containing a vast, million-ton machine in the tip of one finger was deeply disorienting." - The Force Unleashed.

After carrying out these feats, Galen is exhausted yet he is still able to send Force lightning across an entire planet in order to fry the Core, an artificial intelligence that ran Imperial operations on Raxus Prime.

"I do not feel pain," said the Core through PROXY'S vocoder, "and my thoughts encompass the entire planet. Nothing you accomplish in this room will make a difference." - The Force Unleashed.

-

"The apprentice didn't waste energy on speech, blocking each of the Core's moves and driving the droid a step backward. Frustration made him strong, even if he presently had no outlet for that strength. Bringing down the ceiling could kill both of them and probably wouldn't have a profound effect on the Core. If it really was distributed across the entire planet, it could be unkillable." - The Force Unleashed.

-

"He projected all his anger and grief into the surge, and the strength of it surprised even him. For PROXY, for Juno, for Kota, and for himself he fried the planetwide mind into slag."

- The Force Unleashed.

-

"This was his most challenging test. Killing Jedi had been easy by comparison. Destroying Imperial factories, likewise. Bringing down skyhooks and Star Destroyers, convincing would-be rebels of his sincerity, dueling planetary minds and other servants of the dark side - all in a day's work." - The Force Unleashed.

After accomplishing his objectives on Raxus Prime, Starkiller meets up with the members of the Rebel Alliance he'd assembled on Corellia but is caught off guard by Vader's betrayal leading to his severe injury and the capture of the Rebels.

"Before Starkiller could reach out for where his lightsaber lay fallen on the ground, the stone conference table lifted into the air and hurled itself at him. Crashing through three of the pillars and catching him squarely in the chest, it drove him out into the snow.- The Force Unleashed.

-

"Vader here-and Starkiller hadn't expected it!" - The Force Unleashed.

-

His breath came in agonized, short gasps, but he was grateful for each one. He should be dead. That blow should have killed anyone. The fact that he was breathing testified to one mistake his Master had made. He had been rebuilt tougher than before. He raised his head and spoke painfully through clenched teeth.

"You agreed to stay away..." Blood dripped from his teeth onto the icy ground.

"I lied," said his Master, "as I have from the very beginning."

The power of the dark side lifted him out of the snow and into the air. Pain threatened to overload his nervous system"- The Force Unleashed.

-

Bringing the ship about and letting gravity tug it down the sheer side of the cliff, she braced herself for what she would find. He lay on his side, curled like a child with one hand up close to his face. The ship's wash made his hair and cloak move in a semblance of life. The snow beneath him was only centimeters thick, nowhere near enough to have cushioned a fall that far.- The Force Unleashed.

-

He nodded, and then winced as he shifted his right leg underneath him. His bones must be shattered into a thousand pieces, she thought.- The Force Unleashed.

He is then forced to fight through the Death Star despite his injuries in order to rescue the Rebels from their fate.

"Dropping off the ramp and onto a conveyor belt, he ran to the head of the slave convoy and dropped the lead stormtroopers before they even saw him. He swung his lightsaber twice more, cutting the binders of the lead Wookiee slave to make clear his intent, then reached up with the Force and telekinetically wrenched the far wall's ramp out of its footings, spilling the guards to the bottom of the trench.

By then the rear guards were reacting, assembling the Wookiees in front of them to form a protective barrier, and calling for reinforcements. The apprentice sliced three more of the slaves free. The four of them took up the arms of the fallen stormtroopers. Within moments a full-scale battle had erupted.

The apprentice cut his way to the big male, who roared open-mouthed in gratitude. Snatching one of the blasters from his fellows, he wielded it not at the guards or the weapons emplacements beginning to target the minor insurrection below, but at the chains still binding half his fellow Wookiees. Indicating with a jerk of his head that the apprentice should deal with the remaining guards, he began pushing his people toward the nearest shelter.

The apprentice saw the sense in that plan. He Force-leapt over the heads of the Wookiee shield and landed among the guards. They were quickly dispatched and their blasters handed immediately to the last of the slaves to be freed. Together they ran for shelter through a gap in the trench's incomplete wall and were soon lost in the station's densely tangled infrastructure." - The Force Unleashed.

-

"They headed back to the trench, where the incident had sparked a demonstrative response. Walkers of numerous types and squads on foot examined the blaster marks and discarded chains. Several had already mounted expeditions into the superstructure in search of the escaped slaves.

The scrawny Wookiee indicated that they should go west, following a route parallel to the trench. They climbed over cable conduits as thick as wine barrels and squeezed through gaps that would have been tight for a child. Strange rumbling sounds echoed around them, followed by high-pitched scrapes and static discharges. The station seemed almost a living thing, which made them barely insects crawling across its skin. The metaphor pleased the apprentice. Insects carried disease on some planets. The tiniest bug could bring about the downfall of even the largest host. One sting, in exactly the right place, might be all it took to destroy everything the Emperor held dear...

The Wookiee leading the way came to a sudden halt, looking confused. Ahead lay a complex tangle of pipes and hoses that could not be crossed. Judging by the accusations flying back and forth, it was obviously a feature of the evolving station that was new to all the Wookiees. After much gesticulation and howling, it was apparently agreed that they would need to cross the trench and continue their journey on the far side.

They edged as close to open space as they dared and took stock. They were some distance now from the site of the breakout, but the alert had spread. Stormtroopers held their blasters at the ready; walkers turned from side to side, raking the trench with their gunsights. Every thirty seconds a squadron of TIE fighters screamed overhead. Sirens added a constant counterpoint, putting the apprentice's teeth on edge.

"I don't suppose there's an alternative?" he asked his furry companions.

The big male indicated by gestures that the only other way was to backtrack some distance, descend to a lower level of the superstructure, then crawl under the trench to the far side.

Thinking of time passing, the apprentice shook his head. The big male bared his teeth in anticipation.

"All right. I'll go first. Give me ten seconds before you start firing, then another ten before you stick your woolly heads out. I don't want any of you getting hurt unnecessarily."

The big male made a Who me? gesture in mock outrage, then nodded.

"Okay." A trio of TIE fighters flew by outside. The apprentice waited until one of the patrolling AT-ATs was abreast with their hiding spot, then launched himself out into the open.

Automated weapons emplacements spotted him instantly. Red weapons fire stitched lines of explosions across the station's patchwork hull as he ducked between the AT-AT's massive legs. Scooping up components from the nearest construction conveyor belt, he threw a series of high-speed missiles at the turrets, knocking five out of commission. A stream of Sith lightning put the AT-AT itself out of action, and a good, solid shove tipped it over with a crash, providing cover for the Wookiees when the time came to cross.

The quartet had already started firing at stormtroopers converging on the scene. A furious exchange of blasterfire painted the air thick with energy. The apprentice deflected anything headed his way as he hacked into the side of the AT-AT and dropped into its munitions bay. The crew within was no threat, killed by the lightning, but he was careful not to knock any of the charges in case their contents had become unstable. He didn't want it to blow up just yet.

Rigging a simple mechanical switch, he leapt back out and joined the fight. Another two walkers were approaching. He weakened the hull metal beneath their broad feet, sending them crashing down into the superstructure. The next TIE patrol was coming in fast.

He waved at the Wookiees. "Come on!" Three of them emerged from shelter, leaving one killed in the firefight behind. Snarling, they ran pell-mell after him, leaping over gaps in the hull and snapping off occasional shots to keep the stormtroopers in line. The approaching walkers started firing, raising clouds of acrid smoke and shrapnel across their path. A second Wookiee fell, but the others didn't break step. Within seconds, they had caught up with him and were pulling ahead. Their guide pointed at an access panel gaping invitingly on the far wall of the trench. The apprentice put his head down and sprinted.

Behind him, triggered telekinetically, the downed AT-AT exploded, expending all its stored munitions in one blistering blast. Instead of destroying everything nearby, the blast was channeled along the trench and upward, enclosing the two nearby walkers, the stormtroopers firing from the guardrails, and the approaching TIE fighters. A new series of explosions followed the first, and the apprentice felt the superstructure kick beneath him. Fiery debris rained around them as they finally reached the hatch and threw themselves inside.

They paused to catch their breath and to listen for pursuit. None came, not immediately. Covered by the explosions, they had effectively disappeared.

-

The accessway terminated, as promised, in an exhaust port guarded by a full squadron of alert-looking troopers. Hot air swirled around them, coming in occasional gusts that made them stagger. Two quad laser emplacements with human gunners watched over the port; four walkers clanked about in line of sight.

He sat under cover for a minute, considering his options, then backtracked to the last junction and slithered into a ventilation duct leading upward, to a ledge on which the cannons were mounted. He sneaked his nose out the far end and used telekinesis to create a distraction below. While the guards' attention was elsewhere, he slithered out and ran to the first of the cannons.

He killed the operator in midstride and kept on running to the second cannon. It had turned ninety degrees to face him by the time he was on it, throwing its operator bodily out of his harness and taking his place. The weapon swiveled smoothly on its mountings as he swung it to bear on the nearest of the walkers. A series of pounding shots penetrated its armor and blew it to smithereens.

His next targets were the guards below, before they could get a bead on him. They scattered in all directions, looking for cover. While they were busy he took out the second walker. This particular section of the trench was dissolving into chaos much like the last incident he had created. Smoke billowed from the fallen walkers; sirens screeched and wailed. Reinforcements flooded in from all directions, firing at every moving object, whether it was friend or pieces of construction material thrown about by their distant foe.

He strafed the guards again, then took out the third walker. Hearing TIE fighters on their way, he judged that confusion had reached its peak and slipped away from the cannon, leaving it rewired to rotate and fire at random. As he dropped down into the exhaust port and hurried inside, several converging waves of blasterfire blew the cannon to pieces, helping to cover his escape." - The Force Unleashed.

Despite the factors hindering Starkiller, he is able to telekinetically dominate Vader in the way Vader did to his father after realizing that Vader is someone to be pitied rather than hated and letting go of his desire for revenge.

"Vader prepared for combat again. His power over the apprentice, however, was gone. His lightsaber went skittering and sparking across the floor, twisted out of his grip by telekinesis. The Force wrenched him into the air, as he had once lifted the apprentice's father, and a barrage of missiles struck at him with increasing strength. He raised his gloved hands to defend himself, but the battery continued." - The Force Unleashed.

After overcoming both Vader and the Death Star's armies, an injured Galen faces the Emperor, ultimately driving the Galactic tyrant to desperation and defending against his desperation fueled attacks.

Another staggering, painful step and the Emperor was within the apprentice's reach. With shaking fingers, he took the old man's bony shoulders in his hands and gripped them tight. The Sith lightning spread to engulf the two of them, fueled by both their desperations. The Emperor tipped back his head and howled in lascivious pain." - The Force Unleashed.

The combined Force lightning of Starkiller and Sidious is enough to breach the Emperor's Force defenses.

Upon seeing that Juno and the Rebels are about to be gunned down, Starkiller seemingly enters a state of Oneness and releases a wave of Force energy to engulf the surrounding area in order to save their lives. The blast he releases to save their lives is powerful enough to kill the stormtroopers and distract Vader and the Emperor long enough for the Rogue Shadow to escape but not to overwhelm the ships shields and kill the occupants inside.

A squadron of stormtroopers ran into the room, led by a limping Darth Vader. They raised their blasters to gun down the Rebels as they fled up the Rogue Shadow's ramp.

"No!" the apprentice cried, dropping his defenses to strike one last time at the Imperials. Energy surged through him. He felt as though a star had blazed to life in his chest. Driven by concern for his friends rather than himself, he embraced the Force completely, utterly, and was rewarded with strength that made his efforts with the dark side look like those of a child. His nerves were on fire. Streamers of light radiated from his skin. His bones glowed like radiant lava. He saw rather than felt the massive shock wave that consumed a large portion of what remained of the observation dome." - The Force Unleashed.

-

Even when he had lost everything in his former life, when every last hope of victory had been taken from him, he had thought of her. His demise had meant nothing compared with the knowledge that she had escaped safely from the Emperor's deadly space station.- The Force Unleashed II.

Starkiller ( Clone )

No Caption Provided

The clone of the the original Starkiller, Galen Marek, Starkiller was even more powerful than his genetic template.

"Once I found out that Starkiller was coming back stronger, deadlier, and with more to lose than before, I knew I had to write it. His journey has become much more interesting." - Insider 120.

After being deprived of food and sleep for 13 days and surviving solely off of his power in the Force Starkiller notes that he needs to direct all of his focus to sustaining himself with the Force suggesting that even a minor distraction could prove deadly to him.

He shied away from both memory and contemplation. There was no point wasting energy on either when his very survival was at stake. How many days he had been down the pit he no longer knew, but in that time he had neither eaten nor slept. His enemy wasn't physical in the sense of a foe he could strike down or manipulate. It was himself-his fallible body, his weak mind, his faltering spirit. He would endure and emerge whole, or never emerge at all.

"You're alive," said Darth Vader.

At the voice of his former Master, Starkiller looked up, blinking against the light. Vader's boots were three meters above him, barely visible behind the lights and the grate that separated the pit from the dark room beyond. The Dark Lord loomed like a shadow, a black hole in the shape of a robed man.

Starkiller's throat worked. It was so dry he could barely talk at all.

"How long this time?"

"Thirteen days. Impressive." - The Force Unleashed II.

This makes sense since even the most powerful Force user's in the mythos such as Grandmaster Luke Skywalker require "food and rest" in order to replenish their energy reserves and prior to his time in the pit Starkiller was forced to engage in "ceaseless combat training" by Vader.

"Starkiller realized only then how he must have looked. The flight suit he wore was torn and filthy, thanks to weeks in Vader's pit and ceaseless combat training." - The Force Unleashed II.

-

"He was good; Luke gave him that. He might have been a match for an expert swordsmaster such as Kyp or Kyle Katarn. He would have been too much for a comparatively diffident duelist such as Cilghal, or even Luke as he had been back at Sinkhole Station, at low ebb in physical and mental strength." - Fate of the Jedi: Backlash

-

"He felt weary. Well, wearier. That last fight on Almania had stolen a lot of his strength. Keeping himself going despite his injury had taken more. And now this... What he had sacrificed he would eventually regain, after rest and food and meditation, but for now he felt tired to his bones." - Fate of the Jedi: Conviction.

Despite this, the clone is still able to bring Vader to his knees with a burst of Force Lightning in his diminished state.

This is a Vader who had specifically redesigned his armor to provide further insulation to the suit in order to withstand Starkiller's Force Lightning.

"Starkiller fired a lightning blast into the side of Vader's armor that was so concentrated, even the new insulation couldn't absorb it." - The Force Unleashed II.

Upon escaping from the cloning facility on Kamino, Starkiller immediately sets off in search of Rahm Kota in order to help him find Juno Eclipse. Fighting his way through a city noted to have a "strong Imperial presence" with the the majority of Imperial forces being concentrated in the city that is Starkiller's destination.

"Cato Neimoidia's orbital lanes buzzed with nervous activity. A strong Imperial presence vied with a steady flow of freighters to and fro, many of them escorted by TIE fighter or mercenary squadrons." - The Force Unleashed II.

-

"The Imperial forces on Cato Neimoidia were clustered around one particular bridge city suspended over a deep sinkhole that led an unfathomable distance into the planet's crust." - The Force Unleashed II.

-

"His ship had been noticed the very moment he had arrived. On descent, it was immediately joined by a full escort of TIE fighters" - The Force Unleashed II.

-

He brought his stolen starfighter safely to a halt on the swaying platform, conscious but nor caring that there was nothing between him and the sinkhole below but several layers of metal. It might intimidate others, but it made no difference to him."

"Several skiffs parked on the platform had scattered as he approached the waiting hangar. A squadron of stormtroopers stood to attention in two perfectly parallel lines, their weapons honorific, not threatening. If Vader had guessed that he was coming here, word had not yet reached the local potentate. That was good.

He landed, shut down the engines with smooth efficiency, and climbed out of the pilot's seat. The hatch opened with a hiss. His booted feet hit the hot metal of the landing deck with a ringing boom.

A new person had arrived, a balding man dressed in heavy robes with Imperial insignia mixed with Neimoidian trappings, standing at the head of the double line of troopers. He looked nervous, but that soon turned to puzzlement as Starkiller strode into view.

Starkiller realized only then how he must have looked. The flight suit he wore was torn and filthy, thanks to weeks in Vader's pit and ceaseless combat training. In the former Starkiller's life, he had had the art of stealth and invisibility drummed into him, but he was in too much of a hurry now to worry about that."

-

"With a rattle of plastoid, the stormtroopers shifted their weapons to point at him. The robed man drew a blaster and aimed with a steady hand.

The Imperials stood between Starkiller and Kota. With a tightening of his lips that might have been a smile, Starkiller ignited his lightsabers.

"Kill him!" ordered the potentate, snapping off two precise shots. Starkiller deflected both of them harmlessly into the floor. The troopers opened fire on both sides, and he turned to deflect the incoming blaster bolts. In the corner of his eye, he saw the potentate heading for the turbolift.

Not so fast, he thought, reaching out to pull the man back.

The lift doors opened, and a pair of heavily armed troopers emerged, already firing. Pressed on three sides, Starkiller forced himself to forger about the potentate and concentrate on the immediate threats. Blaster bolts ricocheted wildly around him, deflected by his double blades and hitting neck joints, visors, and breathing systems. Missiles from the newly arrived pair peppered him, filling the air with smoke. His Force shield kept the worst of their effects at bay, and he pressed forward, reaching our to telekinetically crush the missile launchers and trigger the remaining charges. With a bright flash and a deafening boom, the last of his obstacles disappeared.

A powerful excitement thrilled through him. For the first time, in the middle of combat, it came to him that he was truly alive. He wasn't a shadow lurking in a hole somewhere, dreaming of being. The Force was with him, and he was free. He was free, and he had a mission." - The Force Unleashed II.

-

The potentate was long gone. Starkiller tore his way into the turbolift shaft, bypassing security codes by means of sheer power, and rode to the upper levels. The transparisteel walls revealed the hanging city in all its glory, curving away from him to his left and right, but he wasn't interested in taking in the sights. He studied the buildings looking only for tactical information. The vision of Kota had hinted at an open space and a large gathering of people. The scans he had taken from orbit hadn't showed anyplace like that. The largest structure in the city was the Imperial barracks, a circular building at its direct center.

When the turbolift reached the summit and the doors opened on the city, he was greeted by the distant roaring of a crowd. He stepped out and listened closely. The roar was coming from the barracks.

He set off on foot, running swiftly through the streets. They were only sparsely populated, with the occasional green-skinned Neimoidian scuttling by, determinedly staying out of his way. He could hear no audible alarms, but had no doubt that they were ringing somewhere. That suspicion was confirmed at the sound of booted feet stamping along the streets behind him.

He shifted to an aerial route, climbing to the top of the nearest building and leaping from it to the next in line. That way he could avoid the roads entirely. He felt weightless as he swung from handhold to handhold with the Force thrilling through him like the purest oxygen. The city's lower levels clustered around the bases of several broad, circular rowers, connected by looping tramlines, and it was a simple matter to travel from one to the other into the city's heart, as light as air itself.

When the Imperial security forces got wise to his plan and activated gun emplacements in the city's upper levels, things became considerably more interesting.

Dodging weapons fire from tram-track to building and back again, Starkiller felt a familiar calm creeping over him. It was a calm born not of peace or tranquillity, but of violence and anger. Countless hours of meditating on the dark side, fueling the negative energies that Darth Vader encouraged him to embrace, made this kind of combat trance almost second nature to him. Fighting people was harder than fighting PROXY droids, but there was a greater pleasure in it too, more of a challenge. A warrior who fought only rationally and without emotion fought exactly like a droid. People were stranger, more unpredictable, and therefore fundamentally more difficult to defeat. He swung his lightsabers as though in slow motion. He watched reflected energy bolts creep between him and his targets with a laziness that belied their deadly power.

Once, in his other life, he had been sent to Ragna III to quell an uprising of the hostile Yuzzem. Barely twelve years old, he had been betrayed by the weapons his own Master had given him. All had failed on landing, along with his starship, leaving him armed only with the Force and his wits. Singlehandedly, he had fought to the nearest Imperial installation and escaped off-world, expecting either rebuke for failing his mission or praise for having survived. He had received neither-and the memory of his puzzlement came to him now, as clear as the crystal in the heart of his first lightsaber. The lesson hadn't been to survive, he had eventually come to understand: it had been to come to terms with his own destructive power. In his wake, he had left dozens of Yuzzem injured or dead. Until it had been forced upon him, he had never known just what he was capable of-and just how little praise he needed to keep on doing it.

Later in that other life, Starkiller had raged against all the deaths he had caused in the service of his dark Master. Starkiller had been Darth Vader's weapon, aimed squarely at the Emperor's enemies, and nothing, he had sworn, would stand in his way. Only at the last minute had he swerved aside, deflected by Juno's love from his former purpose, to another he had been unable to complete. He was no one's weapon now but his own, but he still felt an echo of that remorse, that nagging feeling that killing wasn't the answer, despite the calm acceptance he felt while waging war on Kota's captives. Trained for violence, remade in violence, he struggled with the concept that anything other than violence might constitute a solution to any problem, but he was willing even in the heat of his familiar battle trance to entertain the possibility.

The crowd noise grew steadily louder as he approached the barracks-chanting, roaring, filled with mob fury. The weapons fire concentrated on him intensified, too. Jump troopers equipped with jetpacks were beginning to converge on his location. He angled toward a slender tower connected to the barracks by several high-rise accessways. When he was within leaping distance, he jumped for one of its transparisteel viewing platforms, lightsabers stabbing ahead of him. The window shattered.

-

He could feel the crowd's roar through the soles of his feet. He was close now, very close. The casino's defenses were tight but no match for him. What he couldn't fight through, he simply destroyed. At the final juncture, he guided a sky-tram off its tracks and into the side of the building, tearing a hole large enough for an army to burst through. He jumped into the maelstrom of sparks and molten metal and ran to where he could sense Kota, still fighting for his life in the potentate's theater of death.

One long, straight corridor led to a double door made of durasteel. It was guarded by six stormtroopers. Starkiller didn't bother stopping to fight them. With a gesture, he pushed them aside, then burst open the doors.

The full-throated roar of the crowd hit him hard, like a physical blow. He slowed to a walk as he passed through the door and found himself in a giant stone arena-a combat zone painted red with blood, exactly as he had seen in his vision. The steep sides were full of spectators, but only a handful were present in the flesh. The rest attended via hologram. Their blue, flickering fists, claws, or tentacles were upraised, chanting in numerous languages at once." - The Force Unleashed II.

After fighting his way through the city, Starkiller makes his way into the city's arena to face his next opponent; the Gorog.

The Gorog is an opponent that is capable of crushing a bull rancor.

"Out of the darkness thundered a bull rancor, roaring and spraying drool. Starkiller came forward three paces, putting himself squarely between the beast and Kota, feeling nothing but confidence. On Felucia, his former self had defeated just such a beast. This one, he was sure, would prove to be as significant a foe. He raised his lightsaber to strike." - The Force Unleashed II.

-

The bull rancor glanced over its shoulder, and Starkiller realized then that it wasn't running toward him, but away from something else. The look in its eyes was fear.

Through the open gate behind the rancor came a giant hand, attached to an arm as thick as a small cruiser. Each clawed finger was as long as a starfighter. With surprising speed, it reached out and snatched the bull rancor off the floor of the arena, right in front of them, and pulled it screaming back into the darkness. Something crunched, and the screams were cut off. Bones cracked and splintered with a sickening sound. Sinewy tissue stretched and tore. The crowd was utterly silent, now. Not a soul moved.

Starkiller backed up a step, staring up into the shadows in shock. What exactly had he just seen? Was it a hallucination? An earsplitting roar came from the darkness, and he braced himself to find out." - The Force Unleashed II.

The bull rancor's durability is such that it is immune to lightsabers and Starkiller's Force Lightning by the time of his second mission to Felucia.

"He ran between the enormous legs and away from the swishing tail, slashing as he went, but the creature's skin was so thick it didn't even bleed. Surmounted with tusks and horns longer than he was, the brute - clearly a bull of the species - was by far the biggest living thing he had ever seen. Armor plating thicker than some starship hulls protected its neck and head. Its every movement was ponderous but powerful. It stank of alien flesh and the dark side. The imbalance that had tipped Maris Brood against the Jedi had also turned what had probably once been a noble beast into an insatiable monster. And now he had to kill it. His mind was undivided on that point, even if the precise details eluded him. It had his scent now and all the malicious will of Maris goading it to attack. Between grasping hands and cracking tail, he was going to have a hard time just getting near it. When he tried tipping it over with the Force, it simply roared at him in annoyance. Sith lightning glanced off its armored hide like water. He could slash at it with his lightsaber for years and have no effect." - The Force Unleashed II.

-

"When the mouth was open to its full extent the apprentice took two steps and a deep breath, and jumped inside. The smell alone was almost enough to knock him out, but that was the least of the dangers he had to face. He used the Force to keep the jaws open just long enough to avoid the teeth when they closed. Then darkness fell and the creature's tongue became the biggest threat. His lightsaber - the only source of life in the dark, dripping maw - made short work of that. The bull rancor's head whipped from side to side, but his will overrode the reflex to open its mouth - something Maris had not thought to control. Seeking to stun the beast, the apprentice drew on all the power of the Force and sent a sizzling blast of Sith lightning into the unarmored roof of the creature's mouth. Every neuron in the bull rancor's brain lit up like a firework. The following seconds were among the worst the apprentice had ever experienced. The bull rancor's convulsions were wild and prolonged. He clung on for dear life, half drowning in blood and half choked by the foul air, with arms and legs bracing him firmly against the heaving, fleshy walls. But it didn't die. He couldn't believe it. Wretched, weakened, stumbling, the bull rancor clung to life with Kota's tenacity. No less desperate, the apprentice played the only card left to him. With one powerful release of kinetic energy, he exploded tin bull rancor's head from within. Immediately he was falling. A torrent of blood and vile liquid rushed up the gaping throat, sweeping him out onto the field of bones. Blinking, gagging, he barely retained a grip on his lightsaber as the massive headless body dropped to the ground behind him with a mighty, wet crash." - The Force Unleashed II.

Some brief examples of what a lightsaber is capable of.

1. A lightsaber can cut through the shielded hull of a CIS Dreadnought.

No Caption Provided

2. A lightsaber's heat and energy output is far greater then that of a small nuclear blast.

"It wouldn't withstand a lightsaber, but it would keep a horde of safecrackers busy for a month, and would easily withstand a small nuclear blast." - Fatal Alliance.

3. Lightsabers are able to cut through a material so dense that it warps the fabric of space and time.

"As a Jedi shuttle settled to the landing deck outside, the shadow sent its mind into the far deeper night within one of the several pieces of sculpture that graced the office: an abstract twist of solid neuranium, so heavy that the office floor had been specially reinforced to bear its weight, so dense that more sensitive species might, from very close range, actually percieve the tiny warping of the fabric of space-time that was its gravitation. Neuranium of more than roughly a millimeter thick is impervious to sensors; the standard security scans undergone by all equipment and furniture to enter the Senate Office Building had shown nothing at all. If anyone had thought to use an advanced gravimetric detector, however, they might have discovered that one smallish section of the sculpture massed slightly less than it should have, given that the manifest that had accompanied it, when it was brought from Naboo among the then-ambassador's personal effects, clearly stated that it was a single piece of solid-forged neuranium. The manifest was a lie. The sculpture was not entirely solid, and not all of it was neuranium. Within a long, slim, rod-shaped cavity around which the sculpture had been forged rested a device that had lain, waiting, in absolute darkness-darkness beyond darkness-for decades. Waiting for night to fall on the Republic. The shadow felt Jedi Masters stride the vast echoic emptiness of the vaulted halls outside. It could practically hear the cadence of their boot heels on the Alderaanian marble. The darkness within the sculpture whispered of the shape and the feel and every intimate resonance of the device it cradled With a twist of its will, the shadow triggered the device. The neuranium got warm. A small round spot, smaller than the circle a human child might make of thumb and forefinger, turned the color of old blood. Then fresh blood. Then open flame. Finally a spear of scarlet energy lanced free, painting the office with the color of stars seen through the smoke of burning planets. The spear of energy lengthened, drawing with it out from the darkness the device, then the scarlet blade shrank away and the device slid itself within the softer darkness of a sleeve." - Revenge of the Sith.

During the fight, Starkiller blocks blow from the Gorog that possessed "enough force to crack a moon in two" though this is likely an exaggeration.

"The Gorog's heavy, domed head swung to its left, looking for the general. Starkiller drew its gaze back to him, pushing through the Force at its nearest foot" - The Force Unleashed II.

-

Both fists came for him, converging with enough force to crack a moon in two. He stood his ground, adding his defiant shout to the creature's angry roaring. The fists came together, making Starkiller's world shake, but he went unharmed behind the strongest Force barrier he could muster." - The Force Unleashed II.

Later, we're shown Boba Fett retracing Starkiller's steps in the TFUII comic and finding that he's caused enormous collateral damage to the city where he found Kota.

The novel notes that the arena where Kota is being held was previously the city's Imperial barracks and is the largest building in the city located at its direct center. Upon entering the outskirts of the city, Starkiller can hear the roar of the crowd from inside of it.

"The largest structure in the city was the Imperial barracks, a circular building at its direct center." - The Force Unleashed II.

-

When the turbolift reached the summit and the doors opened on the city, he was greeted by the distant roaring of a crowd. He stepped out and listened closely. The roar was coming from the barracks." - The Force Unleashed II.

As Starkiller continues his search for Juno, he goes straight through the Itani Nebula which casts a "mass shadow" that requires even ace pilots like Juno Eclipse to travel around it. He is forced to steady the Rogue Shadow against the "mass shadow" of the nebula.

"This is taking too long, " Starkiller said through grinding teeth. "I'm using the hyperdrive. "

"The mass shadow of the nebula..."

"I don't care. " His hands flew across the controls. "The others can come the long way if you want." - The Force Unleashed II.

-

"The ship shook, disturbed by the widely distributed mass of the nebula. He gripped the console, urging it to fly straight by the force of his will. This had to work."

Upon successfully making it through the nebula, Starkiller exits hyperspace just as Juno's ship is being attacked by Imperial forces. Springing into action, he boards the Salvation frantically searching for Juno and catching up to them just as Fett's about to escape with her. What follows is a sort of tug of war between Starkiller's telekinesis and the Slave I's hyperdrive engines. A battle Starkiller seems to be winning until a giant droid slams into him breaking his concentration and allowing the ship to escape.

"Clinging to the edge of the cargo bay door, withstanding the emptiness of space, the doors that were trying to close on him, and the shots fired his way by the bounty hunter, was Starkiller. One hand reached for her, fingers straining as though clutching at something invisible. Through the Force, he was trying to bring her back.

The whining of the grapnel reached a higher pitch. It was only a matter of time before something snapped - either the cable or the motor trying to reel it in. Juno had no doubt of that. Starkiller had shifted whole Star Destroyers. It would be nothing for him to overpower a single motor.

The bounty hunter reached around her to push yet another button on his gauntlet. For a second it had no obvious effect. Then, in the cargo bay behind Starkiller, something vast and angular moved.

Sparks flared. Starkiller turned with lightsabers swinging. The force pulling her back to safety faltered - and then died entirely as the cargo bay doors slammed shut between her and him." - The Force Unleashed II.

-

"Starkiller braved the hurricane pouring past him and skidded to the very edge of the air lock. There he found purchase against the bulkhead and stretched one hand out toward them. Again, he could have wrenched them back into the frigate without great difficulty, were it nor for fear of hurting Juno in the process. If he pulled too hard, she might be crushed. Also, the man holding her was armed and unafraid to use his weapon. If he turned the weapon on her, she might be killed before Starkiller could prevent it.

Still he tried, straining against the cable winch and, when that proved too difficult, actually dragging the ship in toward the frigate. Why fight the winch when he could just as easily move the anchor it was attached to? The stocky ship rocked and swayed and began to creep toward him, Juno and her captor with it...

Then a shadow fell across him from behind. His concentration wavered. Something was moving toward him. Nor a stormtrooper, visible or otherwise. It came from above, and got bigger the more it came into view." - The Force Unleashed II.

Note: The ship ( Slave I ) entered hyperspace only after Starkiller was forced to release his hold on it implying he was applying equal or greater force to drag it back.

Starkiller reflects that he could have casually atomized Boba Fett if the bounty hunter had faced him directly and that it was a wise choice that he hadn't.

"It was a delaying tactic. Just like everything else had been, ever since Starkiller had engaged with the Imperials. Their leader, the bounty hunter, had wanted to grab Juno only in order to lure him elsewhere. He had never intended to engage directly with Starkiller. And that was a good call, for Starkiller would have blown him to atoms had he stood between him and her." - The Force Unleashed II.

As Starkiller and General Kota rally the Rebel forces for an assault on Kamino, Starkiller clears out the Salvation of infiltrators, powering a blast which destroyed a shielded Star Destroyer along the way.

Before finally carrying out his feat with the Salvation feat which involves guiding the 300 meter ship's descent through the atmosphere while simultaneously shielding himself and holding the ship together before finally blowing it apart completely.

He raised a hand and telekinetically burst through the outer hatch.Instantly the world was fire. The air around the ship consisted of a blinding plasma, hotter than any ordinary flame. He forced his way into it, bracing himself against metal rungs that had turned instantly red on exposure to the outside. His eyes narrowed to slits in order to make out even the nearest outline. He could barely see the fingers in front of his face. He didn't need to see. The Force guided him, move by move, out onto the hull, where he braced himself with his back to the short-range array and turned to face forward. Like Kota, he could see without eyes. A trembling shape up and to his left chose that moment to give way, showering molten fragments all along the spine of the ship. The primary array was no great loss: he couldn't have heard anyone anyway over the racket in his ears. But the forward turbolasers and primary sensor unit, the next two chunks to go, were more of a concern. The ship was seriously unbalanced now. It shuddered underfoot, pulling wildly in different directions. If he was going to prevent it slipping into an uncontrollable rumble or rearing apart, he had to act quickly and decisively. This was where it got difficult. He needed to maintain the Force shield against the sort of heat he might find in the outer layers of a star. He also had to keep in mind the target ahead - a target he couldn't see through the plasma, but had to hit square-on or else the planetary shield generators wouldn't fail. No matter what happened, he had to fly straight.

-

He raised his hands and spread his fingers wide. His eyes closed tightly against the fiery brightness of the plasma. With each bucking and shaking of the ship beneath him, he encouraged himself to ride with it instead of fighting it. He was part of the ship, not a passenger. He was the ship, not a reckless pilot guiding it to destruction. In the same way that he could feel his fingers and toes, his mind seeped outward into the metal and plastoid of the frigate, until every joint and weld, every porthole and deck became part of his sense of being. There was no line anymore between Starkiller and the Salvation. They were one and the same being, from the perspective of the Force. He raised his right arm, and the ship followed the movement, listing slowly and heavily to starboard. Some of the headlong shuddering faded, as though it were grateful to have someone at the helm again. Even the wind's shrieking seemed to ebb. Something tore away at aft of the ship, and he bent his knees slightly to absorb the shock. The Salvation steadied, found a new center of gravity, and roared on. Confident that his vast metal charge was now under control, he cast his mind outward.

-

The frigate slammed into the clouds with a rearing sound. At that speed, individual droplets of water hit like thermal detonators. The Salvation's own shields were holding, but even so it lost still more of its mass to the ongoing battering. Several lower decks peeled back and were swept away, including the bridge. Most of the short-range array was gone, leaving him with just the base to hold him steady. He clenched his hands into fists and willed the ship to keep going. Something succumbed to the plasma with a flash. A bright spark tumbled in his wake - the secondary reactor he had spent so much energy saving from the giant droid. He ignored it. The bottom of the cloud layer was approaching, and with it would come his first clear glimpse of the shield generators.

-

Carefully, wary of putting too much strain on an already overtaxed chassis, he nudged the Salvations nose down. If he came in low and hit the ocean first, he could concentrate the damage to one location. If he overreached by so much as a degree, he might miss the ocean completely and scrape a long, fiery line right through the heart of the facility. The Salvation resisted. He pushed harder. The nose descended and held there for ten seconds, strain echoing all through the ship. It wasn't made for anything like this. Nothing larger than a starfighter was.

-

Starkiller closed his eyes. He didn't have time to wonder what was going through her mind. He had to think of something fast, or Juno was going to die. There was only one thing he could do, and although he knew he wasn't likely to survive, he didn't hesitate. What was death when the love of his former life was at stake? Besides, anything was possible. Dying, as he had thought once before, always seemed to bring out the best in him. With his mind and all the power of the Force, Starkiller embraced what remained of the frigate beneath him - and blew it into a billion pieces.

-

Juno was hypnotized by the fiery blaze in the sky. Ever since it had broached the cloud cover, two things had become clear. It was a ship, a big ship, and it was going to hit the facility. The roar it made vied with thunder for loudest sound in the sky. Lightning scattered from the disturbed clouds in its wake. Then the falling ship had split in two, with one half powering down at a steeper angle, and the other continuing onward. Only then had she realized that the second one was coming right for her.

-

Seconds remained before it hit - not long enough to think anything coherent, barely time even to observe what was happening. The stricken ship was glowing red, with the last shreds of plasma still clinging to it like flames. Its class was almost unrecognizable, but she made out stumps that might once have been a communications array on the upper port side. That made it a Nebulon-B frigate, one of many EF76s in the service of either the Empire or the Rebel Alliance.

-

At the last instant she made out a tiny human figure standing on the upper hull. The flames and rushing wind swept past him, as though he were impervious to their touch. His arms were upraised in defiance and his head was tipped back so she couldn't see his face. But she knew. Just as she knew that it was the Salvation, she knew it was him.

-

The ship was almost upon them when the figure brought his hands down in a fierce, pounding motion, and the last solid fragment of the Salivation exploded into fiery pieces. She had to close her eyes. The conflagration was too intense, and the sound was that of worlds ending. The cloning tower kicked beneath her. She was momentarily afraid that she might be falling with it into the sea. But then she was rising again, and she understood that the structure had survived, somehow, and so had she.

-

The rain ceased for a moment, and then returned, settling the cloud of dust still further. Of the Salvation, nothing at all remained. Darth Vader lowered the hand he had risen to shield his helmet and took stock around him. Juno did the same. Fires blazed in the wreckage where the rear half of the Salvation had come down. Alarms sounded through the facility, loud enough even for Juno's blast-numbed ears to hear them. Ash was settling on every horizontal surface and forming a thick, gray sludge.

-

Juno coughed and wished she could wipe her eyes clear of ash. Her ship had blown itself practically to atoms; she had seen it happen, right in front of her. There was no chance at all that Starkiller could have survived. He had been riding right on top of it. But she knew as well as they did that this wasn't the end. He had come back from the dead sufficient times now to make anything possible. Anything at all.

-

Starkiller's eyes jerked open. Where was he? All was dark around him. He smelled smoke and his body felt as though it had been hit by an asteroid. The last thing he remembered was tightening the Force shield around him and destroying the Salvation so it wouldn't kill Juno. He was somewhere on Kamino, then. But his mind remained full of strange images and feelings that he had never experienced before." - The Force Unleashed II.

All of these Force acts were not without their cost and, compounded, caused Starkiller to lose consciousness after his destruction of the Salvation.

Upon waking, he immediately continues his search for Juno in a race against the clock. As Starkiller makes his way deeper into the facility and discovers it's cloning chambers, Vader springs his final trap.

"The space beyond was gloomy and vast. Starkiller emerged slowly from the lift, keeping all his senses peeled. Darth Vader was close, very close. In the shadows above he made out the faint outlines of platforms much like the ones in the cloning towers below. Beyond them, faint light gleamed on curved glass tubes, but he could not make out what lay within."

-

"The Dark Lord was standing out of Starkiller's reach. Instead of attacking, he gestured at the rows of cloning tanks beside him. Lights flickered on inside them, revealing row after row of identical forms. Clad in stripped-down version of his former training suit and attached via tubes to complex feeders and breathers, they hung weightlessly in transparent fluid, twitching occasionally in their sleep.

Starkiller felt a shock of recognition jolt through him. These weren't stormtroopers. They were him. Incomplete, and oddly warped, but definitely him.

Vader gestured again, and the clones' eyes opened.

In them Starkiller saw nothing but hatred, anger, confusion, betrayal, madness, and loss.

Their glass cages shattered. Amniotic fluid boiled away. They pulled free from their cables and tubes and, with motions faltering at first but quickly growing stronger, climbed free from the wreckage.

Starkiller stood his ground as a circle of failed clones formed around him.

Behind them Darth Vader nodded once.

The clones came forward in one overwhelming rush.

How many clones of himself is Starkiller faced with? While we don't have exact figures, we do have some low end estimates.

No Caption Provided

In these scans, we see each of the cloning platforms has 8 cloning tubes at the top and 8 around its side making it so that each platform holds 16 clones. We see 5 platforms in the first scan. That gives us at least 80 Starkiller Clones, all possessing the power and abilities of their shared genetic template; Galen Marek.

No Caption Provided

Both the comic and game shows that there are several such towers located in the facility and that there are several levels of cloning tubes on each tower suggesting that the number of Starkiller clones is far greater than what can be derived from the scan above.

This falls in line with the book's description where Juno hears "a hundred voices crying out in despair" at the end of Starkiller's battle with his fellow clones.

"Faintly through their helmets she heard the sound of the stormtroopers talking to one another, over their comlinks. Maybe discussing the value in shooting her and making a run for it, although she doubted any of them would risk incurring Vader's wrath. Even with such Rebel firepower arrayed against them, they would regard the Dark Lord as the greatest threat. She remembered feeling that way, once.

Something exploded in the spire, making it sway underfoot. Juno felt breathless, as though the air were growing thinner.

It was him. She was certain of it. The stormtroopers knew it, too. They tightened around her, drawing a false sense of security from closer proximity to one another. They looked at her and glanced quickly away, looking more nervous than ever, and she realized only then that she was smiling.

He was so close to her.

The spire shook again, more violently than before. She wondered where Darth Vader was and what he was doing. Surely he wouldn't have brought her to Kamino only to leave her dangling in the trap-unless it had sprung already, and she was no longer needed. But in that case, why didn't the troopers just shoot her and be done with it? She didn't understand the finer details of Vader's plan. That was her only uncertainty.

Seven powerful explosions filled the interior of the dome. With a piercing splitting sound, the dome itself began to shatter. Cracks spread across the transparisteel, fissures dozens of meters long that joined one another and branched to create entirely new ones. They reached up from its base and converged on the center, high above. Where they met, gently, in slow motion, the first pieces began to fall. Each was larger than a starfighter, and easily as heavy. They turned as they fell, rumbling with ponderous grace.

When the first piece hit the buildings below, it shattered into a million pieces.

And from the interior of the spire came a terrible scream, as if a hundred voices at once, crying out in despair." - The Force Unleashed II.

The clone's Starkiller fought were capable of easily overpowering Vader.

"Together they could easily have turned on their creator and overpowered him." - The Force Unleashed II.

Facing the last wave of clones, Starkiller destroys them all with a single Force repulse that leaves him completely and utterly exhausted to the point that he is left physically shaking. This is the state he's in when he begins his second fight with Vader.

"He sought strength from within himself, and pushed outward with all his might. Clones went flying. The empty rubes from which they had emerged shattered into millions of pieces. Platforms buckled and fell with reverberant crashes. The interior of the cloning tower rang as though struck with a giant hammer. Every muscle in his body shook with the effort of it.

The echoes faded, and he felt a peculiar kind of quiet descend.

The air was misted red, and every surface was slick with blood. He tasted it on his tongue and smelled it in his nose. His blood. A veritable ocean of it." - The Force Unleashed II.

-

"The tips of his lightsabers shook. He had never felt so exhausted, at every level of his being.” - The Force Unleashed II.

Feats like these definitely gives some interesting context to the clone's musings about how he compares to the Emperor. Especially when one considers that he possesses the original Galen Marek's memories including his fight with Sidious.

No Caption Provided

"He could have released his Master from a life of torment had he chosen vengeance over the lives of his friends among the Rebels. If he hadn't, he might not have died and been reborn as a clone."

-

"The very suggestion had seemed preposterous then, but it didn't anymore. Just the thought of Juno had a profound effect on him. He would slash his way through a hundred Emperors to save her, if he had to."

Notably, this kind of commentary is echoed throughout the book whenever Starkiller thinks about a potential confrontation between himself and the Emperor.

"To take the former Starkiller's place, he presumed, as a weapon that could be aimed at the Emperor then Vader's enemies whenever he commanded."

-

"He wanted Starkiller back in the fight. Kamino was just a means to that end. Once Juno was free, presumably, Kota hoped to announce Starkiller's return, reunite the Alliance behind him, and storm the Emperor's stronghold on Coruscant. Perhaps, Starkiller thought, he was being unfair to Kota, but he saw little compassion in the general's blind eyes. Just determination to win-at all costs."

-

"In that sense, he supposed, it didn't matter if he was a clone or not. The ends justified the means. And the ultimate end was to defeat the Emperor. He was sure no one would quibble about his pedigree when that day arrived."

Some food for thought.

You're in luck. I'm doing a thread like this for Maul in the future, though there are a few other projects ahead of it in the queue including one for Bane.

Gotta wonder if CV is gonna be on the rise once again if they're paying attention to user-content after all this time.

Great post. :)

Great Read, in the mythos where would you rank star killer?

I honestly don't know for sure but I can say I hold him solidly above the RotS Titans like Anakin given Vader's superiority to his former self as of ANH ( only 1-2 years after TFU ).

Great post. :)

I'm honestly surprised it took this long for them to allow users to write articles for the main page.

That being said @killbilly

Amazing article. I didn't read the entire thing (SW isn't really my cup of tea) but I'm generally thankful your article got Dark Phoenix removed from the front page. And that it was well received.

Thank you. It's much appreciated. I can't wait to read other people's featured articles as going to the front page used to be one of my favorite things to do when browsing the site back in the day.

Wow coming to CV and seeing sth that wasn't the Dark Phoenix Saga was shocking, but anyways amazing work.

Galen/Starkiller is one of my favorite SW characters and all his feats are from when he was 17-18 yo, can't even imagine what a beast he'd be if he reached EU Grandmaster Luke's age.
