Power

Shaak Ti's power in the Force as so great, she influenced Felucia. The darkness was about to over take the balance of the world and consume it, but Shaak Ti's presence there not only brought back the balance, but deafened it and created a nexus of Light Side power:

The Force Unleashed novel
The Force Unleashed novel

Kota leaned closer. "Don't be overconfident, boy. Felucia is a world finely balanced between the light and dark sides of the Force. Shaak Ti was the only thing keeping it from being consumed by darkness. If anything's happened to her, your experience in the hut will seem like a bad dream in comparison."

...

IT TOOK HIM NO TIME at all to attune his senses to the vast and tangled life-fields of the fecund, overrun world. The balance had indeed shifted profoundly toward the dark side since his last visit. He found the world's new ambience familiar but not comfortable, and felt that he was recognized but not welcome. The latter surprised him and occupied his mind even as he defended himself against every able-bodied predator the world had to send against him. So it seemed, anyway. Without Shaak Ti keeping their innate Force sensitivity in check, the native Felucian species fought him every step of the way.

...

Shaak Ti's death affected them deeply, so profoundly entangled had she become in the energy flows of the world.

The Force Unleashed novel

Shaak Ti is one of the most powerful Jedi(presumably in history):

After an inconclusive victory against Rahm Kota, and a more final one against the mad Paratus, Starkiller takes on a far more formidable foe in this classic scene: Shaak Ti, one of the most powerful Jedi.

Shaak Ti burns brightly in the Force to Galen Marek:

"Did you tell them to leave, Shaak Ti?" he called. He could sense the Jedi Master nearby, burning brightly in the Force but hidden like a lantern behind a shutter.

The Force Unleashed novel

Shaak Ti's capabilities in the Force allowed her to go beyond basic Togrutan dependency, causing her to become independent and do something nearly unthinkable and impossible for a Togruta: become a Jedi. Her Force capabilities were also recognized early-on:

With this background, it was unlikely that a Togrutan would become a Jedi. However, for whatever reason, perhaps her Force capabilities, Shaak was always more independant than was normal for a young Togruta. Her Force skills were recognized early on by a visiting Jedi, and she was brought to Coruscant to begin Jedi training.

The Official Star Wars Fact File #74

Skill

Accolades

Obi-Wan Kenobibelieves Shaak Ti and Mace Windu are enough to handle Sidious. What's noteworthy here isn't the completely false opinion on that duo taking Uncle Sheev, it's that he specifically mentions Shaak as aiding Windu in this, rather than any of the other Jedi that were present(i.e. Kit Fisto and Stass Allie), implying Shaak's superiority over them:

"The search for Sidious began with us. We discovered the first clues. If he's thought to be on Coruscant, then we're the ones who should be there to capture him."

"Anakin, Mace and Shaak Ti are more than capable of seeing to that - - if Sidious is even there."

Labyrinth of Evil

Darth Vader suggests that Shaak Ti is superior to Rahm Kota:

Star Wars Insider further backs this up by saying Shaak Ti was a far more formidable foe than Rahm Kota and Kazdan Paratus:

Shaak Ti's a peer of Count Dooku in terms of her stylish Makashi grace:

There is an understated elegance in Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber technique, one that is quite unlike the feel one might get from great swordbeings of the Jedi Order. He lack entirely the flash, the pure bold elan of an Anakin Skywalker; there is no where in him the penumbral ferocity of a Mace Windu or a Depa Billaba nor the stylish grace of a Shaak Ti or a Dooku and he is nothing resembling the whirlwind of destruction that Yoda could become

Feats

Shaak Ti has managed to cut an entire swath of battle droids during the Battle of Geonosis, and performed so well she made an example to all of the young Jedi trainees:

Shaak Ti was one of the group of Jedi who went to Geonosis with Mace Windu.

[...]

The arena battle was Shaak Ti's kind of fight. Amid the swirling mass of Geonosians and droids, Shaak Ti cut a destructive swathe, weaving in and out before most of her opponents could even get a shot at her. These skills helped her survive when so many Jedi fell, and Shaak Ti was one of the handful of Jedi who formed a circle in the centre of the arena.

[...]

Her example stood as a lesson in Jedi conduct to young padawans, especially to the young Togrutans at the Jedi Temple.

Shaak Ti excels in group combat, meaning she compensated for the crippling weaknesses of both Makashi and Ataru:

-- Jedi: Shaak Ti

Shaak Ti, while severely exhausted, manages to hold her own against General Grievous with the aid of several other Jedi. It should be noted that Shaak Ti manages to outlast every other Jedi, with Mundi only bouncing back later, but initially losing before Ti herself:

Shaak Ti fights and defeats several MagnaGuards, at one point taking on dozens of them and holds them off for a lengthy period of time, even before using an electrostaff. After she takes an electrostaff, she proceeds to speedblitz six MagnaGuards and stalemates them:

Shaak Ti manages to fight and nearly kill Galen Marek, only losing due to a desperate Force Push. It should also be noted that Galen Marek, even if pre-prime, is credited as a near unstoppable duelist, and has mastered Form VII Juyo, a form that requires so much skill it takes a high level mastery of several other forms just to practice. She also had to control the natives, the Sarlaac and the darkness on Felucia while fighting:

She smiled in mockery. “Are you prepared to meet your fate?”

Then her lightsaber was lit and she was spinning through the air toward him, striking downward as she fell.

The apprentice simultaneously backflipped and blocked her opening blow. The force of it surprised him, and the recoil threw him backward. His hood caught on one of the sarlacc’s teeth, and he tore it impatiently away before the snag could interfere with his defense. Shaak Ti’s lightsaber was a jagged blue blur between them. He blocked her as best he could until he had his balance again.

Then he jumped. Over her he spun and fell down two layers of teeth toward the mouth of the sarlacc. From there he jumped up again, angling away from her to avoid giving the Jedi the advantage of height, but she was there ahead of him, driving him back down with a series of blows so rapid he barely caught them all.

In desperation, he summoned a bolt of Sith lightning and sent it down, into the flesh of the sarlacc. The beast roared and shook, giving him the opening he needed. Shaak Ti’s right foot slipped, forcing her to flip elegantly out of reach of his blade. He leapt after her, swinging as he came.

The fight progressed around the sarlacc’s center rings, blow and counterblow accompanied by the roaring of the beast. The apprentice cut off teeth and threw the fragments at his adversary’s head. In return she took tighter control of the beast’s distributed intelligence and sent its food-seeking tentacles flailing for him. He repulsed them and fought on.

Down they drove each other, closer and closer to the very lip of the creature’s enormous mouth. The air was foul down there, heavy with digestive by-products and the stink of rotting meat. Ghastly exhalations rolled over them as the sarlacc roared on. The apprentice was running out of teeth to sever, so he resorted more and more frequently to Sith lightning and random slashes of his lightsaber to keep it twitching underfoot. Thick ichor leaking out of the wounds made the footing even more treacherous.

You can’t keep this up forever,” he taunted Shaak Ti as they dueled.

Neither can you,” she said. “You are wasting your strength too quickly.

The dark side is inexhaustible.

Your strength is prodigious,” she admitted, “but that is your doing. Light, dark—” She paused to aim a blow at his head that he barely deflected. “They are just directions. Do not be fooled that you stand on anything other than your own two feet.

He slashed at her own feet as they spun by overhead and sent one of her ribbons twirling down into the sarlacc’s gaping mouth. “Spare me the philosophy lesson, Jedi,” he snarled. “I’m only here for your blood.

And you may yet have it, or I yours.

On her last three words, she struck three blows that each partially found their mark. The first burned a sizzling line down the apprentice’s left shoulder. The second scored diagonally across his chest. The third would have skewered his right eye had he not held her back at the last minute with a desperate telekinetic block that stopped her lightsaber barely a millimeter from his skin. He could feel his eyelashes and eyebrows burning. The right side of his sight was entirely blue.

She gasped and staggered backward. Her lightsaber and her gaze dropped. A full half meter of red blade emerged from her stomach, then the rest came free with a hiss.

He backed away, shocked by how close he had come to death and how lucky he had been to defeat her. He had raised his lightsaber by reflex. She had, in the desperation of her final assault, practically thrown herself on the blade. Perhaps she had meant for the two of them to defeat each other at the same time.

Her weakening fingers let go of her lightsaber, which deactivated with a click as it spun away into the sarlacc’s mouth. She didn’t look angry, just weary and in pain. Her red skin was suddenly very pale.

He feinted toward her, but she didn’t react in any way, except to look at him.

You are Vader’s slave,” she breathed, “but your power is wasted with him. You could be so much more.

You’ll never convince me to betray my Master.” He was shocked that she would try such a weak gambit again. Were these the depths to which the Jedi had sunk?

Poor boy.” She winced. “The Sith always betray one another—but I’m sure you’ll learn that—soon enough—

Shaak Ti has been implied to fight Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker himself. In the panel that demonstrates all of Shaak Ti's accomplishments during the Clone Wars, a scan of Anakin charging at her can be seen:

This is further implied in the Revenge of the Sith novel where it notes that Anakin was searching for Ti, and the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia says many believed Anakin killed her in battle, but she survived:

Tactical abilities

Shaak Ti's tactical abilities served her well on the battlefronts of Brentaal IV, Centares and Dagu. Even Palpatine recognized this and deemed her one of his inner-circle protectors:

Supreme Chancellor Palpatine himself officially commended Shaak Ti for her efforts and notable actions on Dagu, Geonosis and Centares. He grew to trust Shaak Ti and her abilities, keeping her as part of his inner circle of protectors during the increasing dangers of the Clone Wars.

The Official Star Wars Databank: Ti, Shaak

Shaak Ti's tactical abilities were so well renowned amongst the Order they placed her to protect some of, if not the most important places and people in the galaxy; such as the Cloning facilities of Kamino from where the Republic gets it's army, the Supreme Chancellor and the Jedi Temple should Darth Sidious retaliate:

During the Clone Wars, Shaak Ti participated in numerous key offensives. She was among the two hundred Jedi who stormed Geonosis to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker from Separatist forces, and later coordinated the defense of the Cloning facilities on Kamino. She also fought on Centares and Dagu, and confronted the terrifying Separatist General Grievous in order to protect Emperor Palpatine. Soon after, the Jedi discovered Palpatine was the evil mastermind Darth Sidious. Mace Windu and several others went to arrest him, leaving Shaak Ti in charge of the Jedi Temple's defenses.

The Force Unleashed Databank

Shaak Ti was one of the major planners of the opening salvo on Geonosis, and served as a key tactical expert and defender during the battle of Kamino:

She[Shaak Ti] planned and engaged in the opening salvo on Geonosis and defended the cloning tanks of Kamino from several devious assaults by the Separatists, including an infamous battle with both General Grievous and Asajj Ventress.

Star Wars UK Magazine 6.17

Shaak Ti, despite being outnumbered and outgunned severely during the battle of Brentaal IV, one of the bloodiest battles of the Clone Wars and the bloodiest as of 22 BBY, manages to coordinate her troops and other fellow Jedi(such as Quinlan Vos, Agen Kolar and Plo Koon) and they achieve victory:

She[Shaak Ti] was soon pitched into one of the bloddiest conflicts of the Clone Wars -- the Battle of Brentaal IV.

[...]

Cut off from her comrades, it looked like Shaak Ti could not hope to survive the Battle of Brentaal IV. Her ingenuity and resilience won out, however, and she took the fight to the enemy.

Shaak Ti's Force senses are backed up by her natural Togrutan senses, which were so highly developed that even non-Force sensitive Togruta can coordinate themselves around unfamiliar areas and can ultrasonically gather information:

Shaak Ti's lekku and montrals were not merely meant for display. They formed an extrasensory organ that made the Jedi a difficult opponent to creep up on. Combined with her Force abilities, her Togrutan attributes gave her the advantage over most foes.

This is pretty impressive. Now that the debates over and the outcome is clear you should note that the characters she's being said to be superior to have ripped a control station from a TIE production factory ( Rahm Kota ) and animated thousands of droids ( Kazdan Paratus ).

@wollfmyth209: Casually too. And Galen at that point has not not only accomplished the TIE scan you posted but also killed a dozen rebel soldiers with lightning instantly and blasted a pair of dursasteel doors off their hinges. Certainly not as powerful as some of his later feats but definitely on or approaching the level of Council Members.

@wollfmyth209 After quite a few Shaak RTs, yours is the best one I've seen. Truly a badass Jedi master.

Nice job m8!

@fated_xtasy:

Well his respect thread is notably better, and her's was a mess, so I don't really see the harm in it.

@wollfmyth209:

Good job m8.

Thanks, y'all.

Uh, Selenial has already done a complete Shaak Ti RT, You should look these things up before tackling them head on and wasting your time. You did alright tho

Not to mention your first Ti RT was up before Sel's.

@emperordmb: Yeah, but that Ti RT sucked. This one's tens of times better.

Looks good man, I was unaware of several of these showings.

Thanks. Yeah, so was I until I started reading really deeply into the character.

Your list is pointless. Legends is non-canon.

1. It isn't a list.

2. This forum debates Legends characters, still, so it isn't pointless.

Very impressive, especially with the magnaguards. I can see why people consider her dueling skills to be so impressive.

I was just wondering, was the first tutaminis feat with the lightsaber just a force barrier, since it never touched her palm, unlike Satele's feat? Is it just that any manipulation of energy constructs/attacks is tutaminis?

Anyways, great job!

@amethystgravity: It didn't make direct contact, but it's either barrier or Tutaminis, there's no explanation for it...

Ti only got a two page spread :(. Plo got a four page (with some great stuff too)

The Togruta Jedi Shaak Ti was noted for her compassion, but was also known as a cunning and dangerous fighter.

-

However her calm beauty belied her skill as a warrior

-

Shaak Ti was at the Jedi Temple when Vader attacked, and narrowly escaped death at the hands of the immensely more powerful Sith Lord

(I include this becuase it shows that Shaak can likely use her cunning to contend with Vader despite the power difference)

Official Vehicle Fact File 51

These next one's are not directly about Ti but are worth noting for other reasons

The Magnaguards came programmed with a multitude of fighting styles, but Grievous ordered a select few have their memories be blanked of such programming. As Dooku trained Grievous in the Jedi arts, Grievous taught the Magnaguards all that he knew. These elite served as Dooku and Grievous's personal guards.

-

When Grievous kidnapped Chancellor Palpatine on Coruscant, a force of his remaining battle hardened elite accompanied him to distract any Jedi during his escape

Official Vehicle Fact File 20

Dooku's next! Want me to drop it on SN's or your respect thread?

@wollfmyth209

Another one for Shaak excelling in group combat:

Shaak Ti fights at her best in group combat as she is biologically adapted for moving in dense crowds. She darts with ease through chaotic melees, where others struggle amidst the complexity of the movements.

@wollfmyth209

Also, the Magnaguards that Shaak Ti fought were not just regular late clone wars Magnaguards. They were among Grievous' personal elite.

Holowan Mechanicals made several Magnaguard models, disdinguished by colour: black, alabaster, blue and rare grey. Each two-meter (6.5-ft) tall droid specializes in a form of combat, and is equipped with an electrostaff or dedicated weapons, from grenades to rocket launchers. Headclothes pay tribute to those worn by Grievous' original elite.

- Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Visual Dictionary

Not to mention the fact that average Magnaguards by this point in the war are confirmed improved over earlier iterations.

Magnaguards often fight in pairs, and have the capacity to adjust their combat styles to match those of their opponents. By the third year of the war, the droids are veterens of countless close-quarter engagements, as evidenced by their blistered finishes, ragged gauges and tattered campaign cloaks.

And this is on top of the fact that these droids were a handful handpicked from Grievous' elite to take care of the mission and it's highly likely that bar IG-101 and 102, these are implied to be the highest calibur of Magnaguards we've seen in action.
