Mind if I bump ya guys for my peasantly thread?
It's a new Star Wars movie. That's good enough for me.
So it's good enough for you to pay for an expensive movie ticket for you and possibly your family members?
Sorry to press on, I know this is not a battle, but I like discussing the quality of movies of 2015. Although this is not to say they are automatically bad or that Star Wars movies are bad per say..
@the_stegman: Would you say it's a hypothetically must-watch in theaters for recommendation purposes? What about a blu-ray or a DVD buy? Or rental only?
@llehdevil: I've loved Star Wars since before a significant number of people on this website were even born.
@llehdevil: I'm seeing it in theaters and hoping for the best.
@llehdevil: I am quite excited but with no chance of Darth Krayt appearing in the movie verse any time soon makes every new Star Wars film disappointing.
I'm excited to finally be old enough to go to a midnight release, or at least early release, of a Star Wars movie on my own. I wasn't able to drive when the previous Star Wars movie (Episode III, I'm not really counting the Clone Wars movie, even though it's canon. It wasn't as "big," I guess), but now I can go on my own. My dad saw all the originals, back in the 70s and 80s, as soon as each one came out, so it'll be awesome to do something similar with the new ones.
@llehdevil: im excited for the new film because its a new star wars film and it seems they are taking it in the right direction.
also its a new story something we have not seen. also all the new books and lore to come off this movie will be insane
thats why im excited
but im still mad about the whole legends thing
Star Wars is Star Wars. I'm gonna be at the mid night screening with all my mates and we're gonna be sqeualing haha. I grew up with the prequels and loved those movies. When I was a bit older I watched the originals and am more in love with the OT, so i've had a rather idyllic view of the movies thus far.
I'm not.
^^ Was just about to say this.
I'm excited because it's Star Wars, but also because it looks like it's being done very well, with a good sense of atmosphere and visuals, and the action scenes look good. Plus, I think it's great to have the old actors back to give it a last hurrah.
I'll certainly see it multiple times in the theater. As both a LOTR and SW fan, I am much more excited about this than I was about the Hobbit movies once I saw how Jackson was handling them--i.e., bloatedly. Of course, previews can be deceiving. But my sense is that this should be pretty solid, and I am looking forward to many more.
Um First Star Wars film in a decade.
First Star Wars film to feature Luke,Solo,Lei in over 30 years.
First Star Wars film to be produced Walt Disney, the Studio that took our favorite Marvel characters and made them awesome and faithful(with a few well a lot of liberties here and there, but you get the point.) to the comics in great live action films. And they completely changed the comic book movie game forever. Comic book characters that weren't just Batman, Superman and Spider-man suddenly become profitable.
First Star Wars film Directed By J.J Abrams. Understand if your not a fan, But you can tell from the guy that hes real fan of the franchise, he grew up with these movies, And he represents a fresh new take on the series.
First Star Wars film in over 30 years to utilize piratical effects in an effective manner.
First Star Wars film to take place during the New Republic.
And oh yea its the First Star Wars film to feature Freaking Kylo Ren as the main baddie!
I mean the list goes on.
