The power of the Empire
A pod carrying an Imperial probe droid lands in the frozen planet of Hoth with the mission to find rebel activity. In a frozen plain Luke Skywalker is making his patrol riding his taun-taun but they’re attacked by a Wampa who takes him to his cave. At the rebel base the news that Luke hasn’t returned worries Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford), who decides to find him when a snow storm is coming. When Luke manages to escape of the Wampa’s cave Ben Kenobi (Sir Alec Guinness) tells him that he must go to planet Dagobah and train with Jedi master Yoda. Little after the rescue the rebels realize that the Empire has found them and get ready for a ground attack. Han Solo and princess Leia along Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) and C-3PO escape aboard the Millenium Falcon, meanwhile, Luke departs to planet Dagobah for his Jedi training.
This film released in the 1980’s shows the power of the Empire in the galaxy and all the resources they have, it also shows the weakness of the rebellion in many aspects, this film compared to Episode IV has boring moments like the romance between Han Solo and Leia or the Jedi training in planet Dagobah. It has great moments like the battle in Hoth pronounced by many fans as the battle of all Star Wars saga, the chase in the asteroid field, the arrival to Cloud City, the dramatic scene were Han Solo is frozen or the fight between Luke and Darth Vader. In this film we have the appearance of the Emperor for the first time and Yoda revealing some interesting things to Luke. This film isn’t as exciting as Episode IV but makes you wonder what will go happen on Episode VI.
