Revenge Of The Sith Review
I'll just start off by saying sorry I'm late with regards to this review, I have only just discovered this page and the subsequent reviewing tool. Now onto the movie.
So we have already seen some pretty averagely written scripts and plots from Lucas, tarnishing the reputation of the Star Wars franchise. Regardless I felt this movie was ok. Not spectulor but satisfactory. Almost exactly what I had anticipated. Lots of lightsaber fights and some interesting character developement.
The main problem with this film is the limitations. The characters all have pre-ordained future's. Therefore characters like Mace Windu and nearly all of the other Jedi had to be killed, which was disappointing. They also had to explain how and why Anakin fell to the dark side. This was again average. The old cliché of doing whatever it takes for love was employed here.
I was extremely surprised with the dubious circumstances of Mace Windu's death. For once we didn't have a straight up winner or loser, and it appeared (incorrectly as I later discovered) that Mace had defeated Sidious, although in the accompanying novel it explicitly states Sidious throwing the battle to turn Anakin to the dark side of the force.
The final battle was epic, although I had hoped that the character of Anakin would have been more likeable and less whiny. Then it would have made for a far more interesting battle.
All in all it was ok. Filled the gaps well, but by no means comparable to the original trilogy.
Thanks For Reading
