    Dark Empire review

I'm reviewing the graphic novel instead of the individual issues...I loved this book as well as Dark Empire II and Empire's End.  Long before the events of Revenge of the Sith, everyone wanted to see the Emperor use a lightsaber.  This delivers and the fact that he could beat Luke Skywalker is wild.  The additional fact of Luke turning Dark to try to defeat the Dark Side is well done here as well.  Very similiar in purpose as Anakin's turn in trying to do good out of some evil.

Seeing more Jedis proved to be just as exciting in the years where we assumed no more Star Wars movies would be released, so this was the next best thing.   Even adding in a 4,000 year old Jedi was very wild as a carry over from the Tales of the Old Republic era.

Probably my only complaint with the overall series is the extreme darkness in tone, coloring, understandable but I couldn't help but wonder if some parts could have been drawn with lighter colors.
