    Elaan of Troyius

    Stardate 4372.5

The Enterprise has just left the outer world in the Tellun system where it picked up Ambassador Petri of Troyius. They are ferrying him to Elas, the inner planet, to retrieve the Dohlman, Elaan, a member of the Elasian royal family who is to be brought back to Troyius for a Royal wedding to unite the two planets and thus avoid mutual destruction.

The system is on the border between Federation and Klingon space, and the Federation hopes the union will result in both planets leaning more favorably toward the Federation rather than the Klingon Empire. Elaan is recalcitrant, however, and it soon falls to Captain Kirk to teach her manners.

To make matters worse the Enterprise learns it's being tailed by a Klingon vessel with unknown intentions.

Intrigue between two alien cultures involving cultural conflicts and saboteurs; Kirk involved in a "Taming of the Shrew" type plot with dominatrix overtones; and throughout the story, the Enterprise being ominously pursued by a Klingon vessel with obviously hostile intentions. Forget the terrible early season three episodes and skip right to this (s...
