Squire Blakblud lives in a small village in Victorian England. He feels responsible for its fortunes, but it has fallen upon hard times. In an effort to save the village, he makes a deal with Satan: he'll make a number of paintings of various demons so they can come alive and take over the world, and in exchange Satan will make his village prosperous again.

While this deal may seem like a poor idea to some, Blakblud takes it and starts making painting using magical paint. He has the villagers put them up all over town, although they are not surprisingly reluctant to do so.

However, intrepid detective Mandy Flynn and her friends Salem and Bozz happen to come to town right at that point to meet with Mandy's estranged father. They find out that demons have been terrorizing the area and investigate.

While Mandy is rather taken with Blakblud's looks and money, they soon realize he is the source of the problems. They stay at his house over night, posing as art journlists, but he makes his final painting, of Satan himself, and escapes to the town church through a secret passage.

They chase after him in time to see the painting start to come alive, at which the Squire finally seems to realize he may have made a mistake. Mandy luckily manages to destroy it using Satan's own hellfire, and the village and world are saved. It is unclear whether the squire's role in all this becomes public knowledge.
