    An antagonist in George Orwell's 1945 novella, Animal Farm. Squealer spreads propaganda around the farm, and is incredibly persuasive to the animals. He represents Vyacheslav Molotov, who was Josef Stalin's head of Communist Propaganda. He also represents the Pravda, which was a soviet newspaper which spread Stalin's propaganda.

    History

    Squealer is shown as a close follower of Napoleon who spreads propaganda throughout the farm in order to rally supporters for Napoleon.

    When Napoleon takes complete control of Animal Farm, Squealer receives many luxuries including the escort of several guard dogs. Squealer continues to spread propaganda and changes many of the Seven Commandments (The 'laws' of Animal Farm) in order to suit his breaches of them.

    Squealer, like Napoleon, eventually becomes indistinguishable from the humans, having adopted their physical likeness (Walking on two-legs, wearing clothes, etc.) and their traits.

    Personality

    Squealer is a master manipulator, having been described as being able to "Turn Black into White". He spreads many lies and rumours throughout the farm, including the 'fact' of Snowball being a traitor and his sabotage of their windmill (When in fact, it had collapsed due to thin walls). He also tells the farm animals that Boxer is being sent to the hospital, when in reality he was being sent to be killed for glue.

    Appearance

    Squealer is said to be "A fat pig" and in the 1999 live-action film, appears as a Tamworth pig who wears a monocle
