I dont like Chaykin's new Squadron Supreme book, they introduced wierd versions of Marvel heroes in that universe, and i figure that might have seemed like a good idea, make the JLA into bad guys (atleast superman/ hyperion and lantern/ spectrum are coming off as bad guys) and have them fight the marvel U guys, but After the supreme universe was pratically destroyed in ultimate power, why not have the JLA mirrors leave that universe and end up in another Marvel U, not the Zombieverse, or the ultimate universe, or even the 616, just someplace else.... (that will explain the new people having marvel character similarities better than just shoehorning this into JMS' Supreme o verse ) so far the book as been about the origins of these marvel characters, which has been a big waste of time .. Maybe they can waste another issue on the origin of supreme universe's Nick Fury, name him Bob Furious and have him kill ultimate nick fury. Maybe then the book will get interesting. Having said all that i do like the Deodato covers.

I do have to agree that the new series isnt that good but keeping them on their own earth and creating a universe from there is a good idea. Having them go into other universes is too much like the original concept back when they would fight the Avengers. The Ultimate crossover was good though.
Power Princess and Hyperion annoy me. and the fact that they're knockoffs makes it even worse. i read one issue and dropped it for good. my cousin swears its good though and wants me to pick it up again -_-"

Damn, Vance, I thought you actually liked the team (from your OP) and I wanted to ask which series I should read. I hadn't actually realised that they are the same team that appeared in Ultimate Power. I just thought it was an alternate version of them, not the real thing.

After actually reading Supreme Squadron and some of Ultimate Power including the minis for specific characters..I'm convinced that this isn't the best rip-off of The JLA.I liked Power Princess before,but her MAX version is too raw,too generic.Otherwise I don't really like anyone else on the team accept Nighthawk,but when I read his mini and found that he was blatantly trying to rip off Batman.I stopped liking him,well at least that version.The real Nighthawk is awesome.I mean come on.His main villain in the comic was a damn clown.

When I say Nighthawk's main villain in his mini was a clown...I mean he was a regular ass clown too.He wasn't like the Joker.He was just some scumbag in a clown costume.
Each one of them are truly messed up, but they're really cool at the same times. I love how Nighthawk is badass and how he kill his ennemis for good. I wished the series goes on because it's one of the few that didn't make me feel s...d up when I end reading a volume.
Haven't read the Earth-31916 version of the team, but I like the Earth-712 version. I know they were originally a JLA rip-off, but I think they've evolved into their own team over time.
read the book, they were all right a bit to serious at times liked the hyperion he was pretty cool especially when he told his "dad" he could fly and he was only staying because of them and also that time he mentioned to the guy like batman that he didn't use x-ray vision cause he might burn his face cause he couldn't control it yet, but other then that was never really invested in them the way i would with the JLA, Superman or Batman
I have never read any of the comics, but I gave a good shot at writing their team page and updating some of the characters (Power Princess, Skylark/Lady Lark) and so on.
I remember being a kid when I first read it. My older brother had a copy in his mix of comics. Read the whole twelve original mini series. It went over my head a lot than but I remember having a comforting feeling about these familiar characters. It was like the Super Friends but way mature and dark for my little mind too get the concept.
Reading it later in life let me enjoy the concept behind these copies of the D.C universe. Honestly good job, they wrote a great story for its time. And the characters have lasted because of their very copied concept. The crew that took iconic concepts in the world of superheros and have fun breaking it all apart and building these iconic concepts back up. I enjoyed the ride and still like to see how the Squadron Supreme idea has changed, even grown. And Arcanna is my favorite too.?
