    As Ultimate Nick Fury assembles his new Squadron Supreme, the four mutated Icarus One astronauts go to...Las Vegas? Meanwhile, teen misfit Arachnophilia comes face-to-face with one of the missing Squadron members...

    Hyperion. Power Princess. Doctor Spectrum. Nighthawk. The Blur. Once they were a team of super heroes - a Squadron Supreme - but the greatest of the heroes vanished without a trace, leaving a beateen and damaged world behind them. Five years have passed.

    The Icarus One - the first lunar mission in decades - returns to Earth and its crew is quickly hidden from the media. Disgraced spy Nick Fury smells a cover-up - and with Arcana Jones (a probability-altering ex-hero_ and Emil Burbank (a criminal genius) Fury breaks into Edwards Air Force Base and finds the crew - Jon and Cathy Mora, Ted Munn, and Peter Boyer - fantastically changed. The source of their transformation? An alien spore, like the one that gave the Squadron Supreme their powers years ago.

    The four use their new gifts to escape captivity - the chaos of which leaves Burbank comatose and Fury looking for an answer to his newfound superhuman problem. He doesn't have to look very hard, as Biogeneral (the alias of tech-wizard Tucker Ford) and the mysterious man known only as Old Soldier offer him their services...

    ...and he'll need all the help he can get. Nebraska teen Nell Ruggles uses her spider-like powers for her own entertainment with violent results. Chicago sees the vigilante Nighthawk and the celebrity speedster known as the Blur - both former Squadron members long missing - return to active duty. And if Burbank's return to consciousness is any indication - life for Nick Fury is going to get much harder, as he tasks Ford with locating the missing astronauts...

    Distant rumblings in the Mojave Desert signal a new age is at hand, as more and more superhumans emerge…and begin to do battle.
