Somebody needs to get her out of the Spider-Woman costume and make her a full-time SHIELD spy, like Black Widow or whatever. With her power and skill set she'd be perfect for espionage work. I watched that Marvel Motion Comic a while back and all I could think about was how awesome it would be if she wasn't a superhero and just did the spy thing...

Spider-Woman #1
That's a case where you can't tell what was worse: the art or the writing. Probably the first. It seems like Land knows only three facial expressions and uses them one after another. The spectrum of emotions? Nah. Anatomy? Nah. Model poses? Yes! Porn actresses instead of actual women? Everywhere. That's extremely disturbing and uncomfortable, I cringed all the way through. The art is abominable.
The writing is unclear, messy and could be confusing, but overall makes a better impression than the art, to my mind. After reading the issue I can't even tell what it was about, but guest-appearance of Anya and Gwen was actually nice (and immediately spoiled by the way Anya was depicted, ugh).
I hope it'll improve, at least the writing. And for God's sake they need to fire Greg Land and hire a better artist for the book.
Did i mention i called it's gonna tank?......well yeah i did....
@animehunter Did i,dear?

yes, you did. even I was disappointed with it. More when they did a u-turn on what they told us it was going to be about. Simply that Jessica was going to be protecting Silk and what do they do, they threw it out the window.

Silk and Spider-Woman, wont go past issue 15.....
@sparty_dbq: Your comment made me laugh.
Also why was there so much controversy about Milo Manara when Greg Land was the artist for this book?
And I just realized the writer's name is Hopeless. That is pretty fun when looking at the comic at a whole.

With issue #1 as an example of what to expect from future issues, I doubt even that, but they did say thing should pick up from issue #4, so it a wait and see until then
I enjoyed Land's art, i don't share in the hate he receives online but i do firmly believe that starting any book in the middle of an event is a recipe for disaster. Poor Spider Woman, they set her up for failure.

Issue 15?
thats wishful thinking...
I'm sorry but did anyone really think this would be good?
THAT.
wow, I really, really enjoyed this issue... and yes, you were suppose to read ASM first. Its why there's a reading order lol.The writer even acknowledges that its weird to launch a book in the middle of an event, but i didn't feel like it was out of place, but maybe its because i have been reading every part of Spiderverse.

@captainhoopla: You must really hate large breasts
With the art, we have some moments where characters seem to be standing in model poses, hand on the hip and all...
It's Greg Land. That's literally all that needs to be said about the art and know to expect something horrible and nightmarish. No matter what you're always going to get misproportionate women and poses that make no sense as well as faces reacting inappropriately with Land.
Something I like in big crossovers is when you have people who wouldn't normally work together in their monthlies team up to get something done. This was set up to be that, but fell completely flat on the idea.
Sloppy editing, when Worlds End launched and I picked up Earth 2 #27 as soon as I open the book it said "this issue takes place after Earth 2 : Worlds End 1". a simple heads up would have been good because I read this before ASM, and was confused and I also agree this was more of a Silk book than a Jessica book
Marvel has so many amazing illustrators with distinct style who can create this beautiful, decadent imagery...then there's Greg Land who is horrible and who, in spite of A DECADE of scrutiny, they refuse to fire. It makes them look terrible, it makes the medium look terrible, it gives people a license to crap all over the art that goes behind comicbooks to continue to employ blatantly tacky people like Greg Land. So if they don't want to be taken seriously, they can go right ahead, just don't take it out on Jessica Drew.
And while we're on the subject of looks, Spiderwoman desperately needs a better costume, she looks like a Happy Meal.
Like this one:
it was alright... i PERSONALLY only bought this issue because it crosses over with the whole spider verse story. other then that i wouldn't have even thought to give this comic a go. also not to mention im really not to fond of alot of female heros....
after the spider verse is complete, i'll be giving the spider-woman series a bye bye from my reading needs.
As for it making any sense, it did if you started with Amazing # 10 prior, i did lol
Ouch. I gave it 3 stars, but this is a disappointing issue because it is very much so a Spider-Verse/Silk book rather than a Spider-Woman book
Damn. Damn. Damn.
