There are many different interpretations of With Great Power There Must Also Come Great Responsibility. This famous line has been perverted both by Sp0ck and the alternate future version of Peter in Edge of Time. But what does the mantra really mean? I want to know what you all think because Spider-Man is very important to all of us and those words are at the core of the character.

Personally I think it means not being a dick.

Basically that when you are empowered with something great, to not abuse it but instead use it wisely and responsibly.

His power should be used to help people not harm them, no matter how tempting it can be.

It's not the power that matters. It's what you do with it.

Doing the right thing, even if there is not anyone there to punish or rebuke you for taking advantage of the situation.

I dislike when people push the phrase on others.

It means that power is directly proportional to responsibility

I interpret it to mean that if I have the ability to help someone I have a responsibility to do it.

It's nice to hear everyone's thoughts on the defining sentence of the franchise.

You have to know when to use that power, as well as know when not to use it.
