So, who is the strongest character Spider-Man has beaten, or can beat in this setting:
New York City at daytime, with no citizens around that need saving.

There was that time in AvX where he turned 2 of the Phoenix Five members against each other. I don't know if you consider that "beating" them though
@nerevarine_11: That wasn't the symbiote, it was a cloth replica of the suit made by Black Cat since she found it "sexier" IIRC.
Firelord
Firelord is nowhere near the strongest... powerful in an over all way, with the flames and durability sure but he's only a 50 tonner. But you have to remember Spidey is one of the few people to have actually knocked out the Hulk, he's also taken down Titania who is an 85 tonner, Rhino an 80 tonner, regularly.
He beat Firelord with the symbiote. I'd say outside of that idk.
The symbiote didn't increase Spidey's strength or abilities any, it simply changed his attitude making him a bit more confident.
In fact it copied Spiderman's strength and some of his agility to give to eddie brock which is why brock... was only slightly stronger than Parker while using the symbiote, Brock as a normal human was a powerhouse.
Okay, who is the strongest character Peter can beat without PIS? (So no Firelord or Juggernaut answers please.)
@dirtytree333: Venom or someone a little bit stronger than Venom
@dirtytree333: without prep probably someone slightly stronger than Rhino (who lifts 85 tons IIRC).
Firelord
Firelord
Yup, Spider-Man tore him up.
@spider11211: indeed he did.
On a side note, I never saw why everyone considers the fight vs Firelord to be PIS.
I know Firelord has the ability to survive in space, survive the temperature at the core of stars etc. but that doesn't make him totally invulnerable to impact, just temperature.
When it comes down to a physical fight Spidey just has Firelord outclassed. OK I admit Firelord is slighly stronger than 50 tons vs 40 tons for spidey, But what spider-man has in his advantage is he is massively faster when it comes to combat speed. for every attempted blow Firelord (or any opponent without superspeed) makes, Spidey can make 40 or more.
And none of this "but Firelord is faster than light" stuff... yes he is faster than light... but only while flying through space, not while in combat, that's the Flash's gig. Firelord is no faster in combat that most humans.
Meaning To Spider-man he's standing completely still and attempting to attack in slow motion.
There are those who say, but Firelord is too durable none of Spider-man's punches would have had any effect. Umm you do know that Spider-man can hit hard enough to stun the Hulk if he tries, and has on more than one occasion. Firelord is nowhere near as durable as the Hulk, so by association... that point is moot.
Now Firelord could have beaten Spider-man fairly easily, by simply using an AoE fire attack that Spidey could not move out of the range of fast enough. His mistake was letting Spider-man get in close, in close Spider-man is one of the most powerful overall fighters in the MU.
@chuckwolf: Spidey is a 40 tonner? I thought he was only at 20 after The Other which may or may not still be canon.

Well Bios of his state he can lift about 20 tons without effort meaning with the same ease a normal human would lift a 10 or 20 lb bag of potatoes, compare that to how much weight you can lift overhead while straining. Spider-man has been shown to lift 40 tons and more numerous times.
@chuckwolf: Yeah that part I know, but I just thought his limit was 20.
Anyway, I don't suppose you have any panels showing off the >40 tons stuff.
Just a few: Lifting a 42.5 ton Train Car overhead with ease.
Supporting 80+ tons of Daily Bugle building while injured.
Landing a jet weighing at least 52.5 to 57.5 tons on his back and that does not include the added g-force from the thrust of the engines.
@chuckwolf: Wow...
@spider11211: said
"His biggest show of power will be getting a good writer."

^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^. Hahaha!
spidey has beaten almost everyone.
And he has been beaten by almost everyone.
Also to the people saying that the Spider-Man vs Firelord battle wasn't PIS - Why? In the end Spider-Man's tactics did nothing to Firelord, who was unfazed by an exploding building and earlier in the comic took no injury when Peter punched him, but suddenly in the last few panels Spider-Man can beat him up easily? It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
Guy who thinks Spider-Man is better in combat than Firelord???
Wtf?? Firelord has taken out entire space armadas by flying through battleships. He can fly near or faster than lightspeed. Saying he is "only a 50 tonner"... so? That is irrelevant. Franklin Richards is a 0 tonner and he would wreck almost anyone.
Are you joking?
@chuckwolf: youre joking?

i don't' know about all that. i was just answering the question. spiderman has beaten just about everyone from street levelers to guys like dr. doom.
@boredcrew: That's Cosmic Spidey you're talking about though.
@thiagl156: Cosmic Spider still appeared on 616 universe and he didn't specified if which version of spiderman.
But iirc, spiderman ( the non-augmented one) had defeated the x-men , fantastic four, and blitzed the thunderbolts ( This was on Civil War)
I know this doesn't count, but in the novel of Civil War, he killed Thor's clone.
@boredcrew: Yeah, but the general consensus is that he's talking about regular Spidey. And the X-Men and FF held back against him in all of their fights, otherwise, Peter would have been toast. He was also amped during Civil War. But I agree with you on the rest.
@thiagl156: I am talking about when Spiderman first encountered both of these teams.
During Civil War he wasn't amped, unless you mean the iron spider, then that would be amped, but he wasn't using said armor
@boredcrew: Oh, got it.
Anyways, he WAS amped in Civil War. He had "The Other" boost when Civil War was happening. I'm not saying he couldn't replicate that feat without a boost, tho.
