@animehunter: OH GOD on "Marvel's MJ". Is the Spider-Woman one an extra or might she appear in the movie?

I doubt she'll be be in the movie, as you said she's an extra, I believe they had her planned for a figure for a while.

Although, I'm sure someone is going to speculate the she might be. but me, I don't think so.

    Duly noted.

    Thoughts on "Marvel's MJ"?

BTW these action figures, do kids actually like to play with these?

Simple there's ONLY one MJ and that's Mary Jane Watson, hopefully to be Mary Jane Watson Parker again

as for the figure it's sickening that she immediately get a figure while it took YEARS for Mary Jane to get hers. Absolutely sickening

BTW these action figures, do kids actually like to play with these?

For most, I doubt, they've become more of a collector's item than anything else given their price.

Mary Jane, MJ, Mary Jane Watson, Mary Jane Watson-Parker, oh you lovable foxy redhead. How they do you a disservice by bestowing your hallowed nickname to "Michelle" from Homecoming.

Wait, so Mary Jane, prior to how long? has never had an action figure made?

@ursaber: Apologies I miss-spoke, she has had figures just not by by Marvel Legends.

She's had statues by Sideshow collectable, but those cost between $200 and $600

as for affordable figures at the time this is what was around and I believe the last one before Marvel Legends released their was in 2009(first image)

and Marvel Legends released theirs in 2017 which was 8 years later

Bleeding Cool Bestseller List, 17th February 2019 – The Batman Who LULz

Posted by Rich Johnston February 17, 2019 0 Comments

This is the Top Ten Bleeding Cool Bestseller List, as compiled by a number of comic stores from their sales on Wednesday and Thursday. It measures what are known as the “Wednesday Warriors”, those who can’t wait till the weekend to get this week’s comics. We salute you, and the keenness you bring to your passion.

Batman Who Laughs dominates almost every store, with Detective Comics and Flashdoing pretty well too, an island away from the other titles. No Age Of X-Man makes it…

Top five comics of the week

    1. Batman Who Laughs #3
    2. Detective Comics #998
    3. Flash #64
    4. Superman #8
    5. Amazing Spider-Man #15
    6. Avengers No Road Home #1
    7. Savage Sword of Conan #1
    8. Thor #10
    9. Wonder Twins #1
    10. Criminal #2

    Thanks to the following retailers:

    Who had this to say:

Great Week of books from all publishers – heats really on for Detective Comics#1000 coming up, Customers pleased with Savage Sword, even Avengers No Road Home did better than we thought it would…

    —–

Batman Who LULz just barely managed to beat out Detective Comics this week for the number one spot, though there’s been a lot of people putting the title back. Maybe the edgy appeal is finally wearing thin? Regardless, there weren’t too many other huge titles this week, so Superman and Flash fell in-step right behind the two Bat-Books, with Savage Sword of Conan off to a good start as well. Avengers: No Road Home has piqued some interest, but there’s an equal amount of confusion surrounding it, with a lot of folks wondering how it relates to the main Avengers title and if they need to read both (And I can’t blame them, considering next week hits us with a new main Avengers title AND #2 of No Road Home). Wonder Twins #1 seemed to raise a few brows, but didn’t really perform quite as well as one would hope, and was nothing compared to the other recent DC #1s, but who knows? People may still hop on board down the line. The only REAL surprise this week was that Captain Marvel #2 was outsold by Age of X-Man Nextgen – Whether that’s due to a loyal X-Men following or a general disinterest in Captain Marvel is a mystery. Either way- Doesn’t bode well for the upcoming movie.

    —–

BATMAN WHO LAUGHS remains a big hit, dominating our sales with week with its 3rd issue. Trailing just behind that is mainline Bat-title DETECTIVE COMICS, now a scant two issues away from its milestone #1000.

The rest of the list sees a fairly even mix of Marvel and DC titles, with reliable stalwarts such as SUPERMAN, THOR, FLASH, and CAPTAIN MARVEL making appearances. Holding down the bottom of the top 10 is Mark Millar and Olivier Coipel’s MAGIC ORDER.

    —–

The second issue of the new Criminal arc took the cake this week! Great to see these creators still getting the love they deserve. Other notables that charted this week include Magic Order 6, Blackbird 5, and William Gibson’s Alien 3 #4. Also, the new series Ironheart continues to chart week after week! Great to see that as well.

Not sure how helpful this list will be for this week. We did not get most of our comics until Thursday afternoon. Wednesday was the worse Wednesday sales wise that I can remember. No new comics will do that. UPS blamed Diamond as Diamond blamed UPS again. It does look like the box was sent a day later by Diamond than usual and then UPS sent it to the wrong state and then to another wrong state. No refund on the shipping either. That said only two Marvel titles made our top ten,Amazing Spider-Manand the new Star Wars Count Dooku. Hopefully next week we do have comics on Wednesday after two weeks of not getting them on time. If it keeps up more people will get out of the habit of stopping in on new comic Wednesday. With us being the only comic store not getting new comics on time we lost out on sales.

    —–

Not only was it a five-five split between Marvel and DC, but it was an alternating pattern, with DC taking 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th place and Marvel taking 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th place. The difference was often one or two copies between each position on the charts.

@animehunter Any idea when the Marvel solicitations are due? DC's solicits were a day or so late as well, but that was because of a leak and the editorial meeting at Burbank

Marvel's Spider-Man won't be getting a third season, , instead we will will have "specials". It's not known if these will be a continuation of the series or if it's something entirely new.

Also, according to them, the Spider-Woman movie will be animated

    Marvel Animation

    Spider-Man Specials -- ongoing

    Marvel Rising -- ongoing

    Avengers Assembled -- wrapping up

    Sony Pictures Animation

Sony Pictures Animation continues as a pre-production facility in Culver City, while most production is centered in Vancouver (where the Free Money flows). Sony also releases animated co-productions and pickups.

    Fixed -- in development

    Black Knight -- in development

Ghostbusters (animated spin-off) -- in development

The Mitchells Vs. The Machines -- development

Spider-Man Into The Spider-verse sequel -- in development

    Spider-woman -- in development

Yay for Marvel's Spider-Man cancellation. And Avengers Assembled. Truly, Earth's Mightiest Heroes needs to come back. Hopefully Marvel Rising will get canned too. If Marvel's Spider-Man is being axed, then Rising should stand no chance.

Will Spider-Woman be Gwen or Jessica Drew? It'd be awesome if it was Ultimate Jessica LOL

    Black Knight sounds interesting.

The End of Deadpool, the Beginning of Black Cat and Collected Spider-Man Noir – Marvel at ComicsPRO

Marvel Comics is to collect and publish the Spider-Man Noir stories in one big hardcover collection, shortly after publishing the complete Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham collections and almost a year after Into The Spider-Verse came out. Marvel knows they missed the boat on that one a little.

And spinning out of recent Amazing Spider-Man, Black Cat is to get her own ongoing series, from Jed Mackay and Travel Foreman, starting in June. Another Spider-book to add to the big list…

More to come, I am told.

@ursaber I think it's ehhh, I'm not really feeling the current story, it's a little too bizarre for Peter to tackle.

Indeed. Its... uninteresting. The dialogue, the story and the art don't really grip me.

    Edit:

Spider-Ham, Symbiote Spider-Man, Black Cat, a lot of Spider-Man content coming out way.

Are the three MCU movies releasing this year Cap Marvel, Endgame and Far From Home? Or is there one more for the holiday season?

    First left me say

    Black Cat ongoing, HELL YESSS!!!

Shock up another win for Nick Spencer because something tells me he has a lot to with this. Just how many time am I going to be ending up thanking him.

    Also

Just wanted to let you know my communication is going to be limited for a while, my computer has suddenly decided to have a nervous breakdown, so for the next few hours hopefully, I’m going to attempt to bring it back to life, fingers crossed.

Who is writing the Black Cat series? Spencer said he wanted to do a Black Cat solo, is he the writer?

@ursaber: From the article above it will be written by Jed Mackay and drawn by Travel Foreman. J. Scott Campbell did the cover, don’t if he’s doing the others.

    Black Knight sounds interesting.

I think that Spider-Woman is supposed to be an ensemble film in the same way Spider-Verse was, but focusing on the female Spider-heroes. So we could get any combination of Jessica, Anya, Cindy, Gwen, and any other elseworld spider-females.

@quilsniv: Mayday or Annie Parker are my picks for Spider-Woman. Or Ultimate Jessica Drew. Too bad it will likely just be Spider-Gwen.

Again, it's an ensemble. Not sure if it meant Spider-Women, but judging by what Amy Pascal has said, we're probably getting more than just one character. Most people think it's going to be Jess, Gwen and Cindy, but I'm hoping for kid Annie and Mayday along with those three. (Along with maybe Anya as Arana, but I'm not really holding out hope since most people forget she even exists.)

@quilsniv: yeah but I was referring to who will be the main lead. Even if it is an ensemble. Mayday is the likeliest spider daughter to be featured. It would be better of Mayday was the chief spider woman character rather than Gwen.
