    I honestly don't think that in 700 Peter will die but will get some other horrible fate that is even worse than death, where he probably will have to quit being Spider-man and watch Some other guy take not only his job but also the love of his life, I mean that's basically what I get from Slott soliciting all this stuff for ASM 700 and SSM. It's really quite tragic when you think about it. :(

    As long as Joe Quesada is around, Spider-Man will suffer.

    Yes, just like every other protagonist in serial fiction.

    @fodigg: This :)

    If a protagonist doesn't go through any trials then there's no story.

    I know but this is supposed to be his 50th anniversary, and apparently Marvel is done with Peter Parker, you would think Marvel would at least give its biggest cash cow a good send off.

    This is Marvel mate. They never change things for long. Eric Masterson was Thor only for a short time. Bucky's time as Cap was limited as well. Superior Spider-Man will be an interesting new direction but Peter will be Spidey again before you know it.

    @JimTheSurfer: That too. But Aunt May has 'died' twice before. Once when Osborn faked her death and then nearly dying in OMD before Mephisto saved her in exchange for the Peter/MJ marriage. I wonder if Aunt May will die for good in ASM 700.

    If she dies, Peter would trade his soul for her life. Peter will then die and descend to Hell where Mephisto will await payment.

    @Lvenger: Actually it has happened 4 times. The ones you mentioned plus her death from some sickness 'n stuff in ASM #400 and there were one more time when Doc Ock and Mysterio made an illusion of aunt May's death. It's neverending... xD

    @Crash_Recovery: Agreed. But if a protagonist goes through too many trials, then story gets way too fu*ked up.

    Actually I have a scan which disproves it. It's not for those of a nervous disposition though :P http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/5/50941/1033330-956196_deadpool2_1__super_super.jpg
