I feel that they ripped of spider-man a bit because black spider's appearance looks just like spider-man. I know that this character belongs to DC, but it seems to me that they are ripping or making fun of him. BTW, this is an image in Young Justice TV Series. Heck, if I remember correctly, in the second episode of the series, when robin, kid flash, aqualad, superboy are fighting Blockbuster, kid flash makes fun of him saying, "Come and get me, you incredible hulk" of bulk, I can't remember. What do you all think though. Did DC rip off spider-man or making fun of him. Heck, they got the same voice actor from Spectacular Spider-Man voicing black spider too.
Spider-Man
Character » Spider-Man appears in 17246 issues.
Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider as a teenager, granting him spider-like powers. After the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter learned that "with great power, comes great responsibility." Swearing to always protect the innocent from harm, Peter Parker became Spider-Man.
I feel that they ripped of Spider-Man a bit...
Marvel has ripped off D.C a lot. But usually people only complain if the rip-off is a better version of the original and thats not the case here.
Greg Weisman, who used to work on Spectacular Spider-Man, also works on Young Justice. He is (according to an interview with him) not only fully aware, but notes that it is indeed a nod to fans of Spectacular Spider-Man. And it was an awesome one.
To be fair, the only ones that would notice are the ones that watch 'Young Justice' and even then...I don't think many people would care. Both companies have ripped off each other pretty badly over the years - and this one is just an insignificant one in comparison to the others.
Black Spider is a rip-off of Spidey, but yeah Marvel and DC are always ripping off characters from each other...
@thespidey307: It happens all the time. Its mild fun. In one of the issues of Teen Titans someone uses the "All New, All Different" moniker to refer to the new line up, obvously referencing the X-Men rebranding. I've see Spider-Man lightly poke fun at the Batman film legacy. Theres no serious rivalry between the two companies; thats fan spurred horsepuckey. If its that big of a deal to you, the list of Marvel characters that are homages, parodies, and/or analogues to DC characters would be massive.
at first I was like SpiderMan because I just hear the voice but I hope that will lead in to The Suicide Squad in Young Justice

Thatd be pretty dope. I hope they use the Wall version of Amanda Waller, I dont like the pretty version in the new 52.

Josh Keaton even voiced Black Spider for the show
@duke_nasty: the funny thing is that people complain a lot about Marvel ripping of DC because Marvel always makes it better xD Just look at Deadpool then look at Deathstroke, Deadpool FTW
@smcauley600: Deathstroke was around way before Deadpool was created, in fact Deathstroke was created before the guy who created Deadpool was even in the comics industry.
First of all, Black spider has been around for awhile and there have been like 4 different guys by that name in DC, he is mainly a Batman villain aswell.
secound of all.. im actually i little amazed that no one here knew this, but the guy who drew Deadpool has said that the only reason DP exists is because he really really wanted to draw Deathstroke xD

Why do people say "rip-off."
Inspired is a better word.
This.
There is a difference between inspiration and copy and pasting with a different palette change batman was imspired by zorro yet the 2 now have hundreds of differences there is not enough creativity here for it to be classified as its own idea so its a simple rip off
@mayorpayn: dude im pretty sure most people know that DP thing. But the thing is that Black Spider is not more popular or cooler than Spidey. Deadpool is way better than Deathstroke, so one mistake became a huge success in the lives of Rob Liefeld, and that other guy.
Greg Weisman worked on Spectacular Spider-Man and Young Justice.
When Spectacular Spider-Man was cancelled, he got the voice of Spider-Man to come on Young Justice to voice Black Spider for the episode. With the obvious similarities, Weisman knew what he was doing.
Just the fact Spider-Man (Josh Keaton) voiced him made it golden.
He is a ripoff but it didn't become popular so no one cares.
