Ok, we all blew a gasket venting about how much we hate One More Day.
Now's your chance to say how you think this terrible, terrible arc should have ended. (Maybe Quesada will see it and have a good idea for once.)
Character » Spider-Man appears in 17241 issues.
Spidey spends time with his dying Aunt who dies in her sleep. Spidey feels bad but gets over it and we all get on with our lives.
Here's what I think should have happened:
Peter & MJ reject Mephisto because super heroes don't make deals with the devil and because their marriage is too strong to give up for anything. Defeated & frustrated, Mephisto leaves them.
AUNT MAY DIES! Peter grieves and then realizes her death has been looming for about 40 YEARS and gets over it!
Peter doesn't go back on his promise to kill the Kingpin (as would be the clichéd thing to do) but unfortunately Kingpin is no longer in the country - keeping continuity with Daredevil 93.
Marvel exercises some inter-title continuity for once. Tony Stark's pardon of the heroes who helped in WWH stands. Peter & MJ are no longer fugitives.
J. Jonah is still trying to sue Peter for $5 million. Peter & MJ must now struggle with what to make of their lives. All they knew is gone. They are in the public eye and everyone knows Peter is Spiderman, including old enemys still plotting revenge...
peter and MJ decide that aunt may lived long enough so they let her go. after a day peter goes insane and in a violent rage kills MJ and is either committed to an asylum or is gunned down by police.
Tony creates more spider clones and starts the scarlet spider corps to watch over NY City.

LOL! acewasp23, you must be one of Quesada's interns.
acewasp23 says:
"na if that was true the hulk would still have his own tittle, iron man would be a better man.... or an alcoholic, capt America would be alive and well, and there would be more mutants. "
He got rid of the mutants because he wants to bring the X-Men back to the original rouster. LOL
"How OMD should have ended"
It should never have started. Pure crap. I liked having an aggressive angry Spider-Man but that wasn't true to his character. Where were all the snappy one-liners? Also Marvel made a big deal about the "return of the black costume." Too bad he hardly wore it. With his identity public, he was swinging around as Peter Parker most of the time.
Sigh
At least we still have Ultimate Spider-Man.

Very true. Black in Black was just hype created to cross-market the comic with the movie.
It was bascially only for his showdown with the Kingpin and he still took his mask off for it.
You're right in that OMD should never have started. A lot of the crap JMS did should never have been started.
well how about this, Aunt May dies and Peter takes on a new costume. His face get burned during a fight with one of the Pro-registration heroes. He starts wearing a black suit with a jacket , a belt and a backpack. His powers begin to lose control because of traces of the Goblin formula in his system (Revenge of the Green Goblin anyone?). He doesn't have any additional powers and builds a pair of web shooters. However, no ordinary web shooters, they can now shoot webs with acids in them and magnesium laced webs which can catch fire on contact with air. He finds out that MJ is pregnant and making things more complicated. He thinks about stealing money from a cash register but stops in the last minute and Green Goblin arrives and says that he knew that something like this was going to happen. He then quotes a line he said during the events of Revenge of the Green Goblin. "The lines are begging to blur Peter, told you one day you will look into the darkness and blink and show your true self."
