I wouldn't say this was a great arc; the previous one, grim hunt, wast vastly superior in pretty much every way.  That said, I did enjoy the first the parts.  Unfortuntately, the conclusion really fails to deliver.  There is way too much time spent focusing on Dr. Strange, Reed, and Tony, with little time actually focusing on Peter and MJ.  It also seemed a bit cliche; I was looking for a lot more out of this.  Sigh.... maybe the next arc will be better?

MJ's characterisation was awful. That last issue was the worst Spidey comic I've read in a long time.

All my questions were answered. If you look at it as a big picture story, it's not bad.

The whole debacle is kind of cringe worthy, but they did what they felt they needed to do.  Grim Hunt was pretty damn good except for the questionable things they had The Lizard do.

I'm reading the Marvel Adventures timeline now, that's more of a fun light hearted Spidey adventure that I'm looking for.

I haven't had a chance to read the last issue, but I've been pretty disappointed with OMIT start to (near)finish. Everything from the art to the story just hasn't made me care at all. Thankfully, Origin of the Species is now starting.

Grim Hunt was way superior to most of spidey's story arcs!
I only manage to read the very first issues and i think it was good.
    What happened in the end?

IMO the next arc will be indeed better.
It will have to do with Norman's child IIRC!

I think this quote from Marts review says it best for me.

" Would MJ truly abandon her life with Peter rather than stay and fight? I don't believe that for a minute. The strength of her love for Peter is what got the deal with Mephisto inked in the first place."

They day of the chosen one who will write all of Queseda's wrongs and bring them back together again cannot come soon enough.

Yeh, Quesada's hatred for MJ was so blatant in this issue, it nearly made me convulse.

It's in the first issue. You find out MJ's deal, and who do you think that little red bird is?

Once more I'm going to be in the comic fan minority but I actually liked the ending to OMIT. I poked a couple tears I'll definitely admit, and like it was said its great especially when you consider it in the bigger picture story.

And it doesn't mean that they will be apart forever, like Mephisto said, they have true love.  So at some point they probably will get back together, just not quite yet.

I read it, but I still don't fully understand what exactly happened...

Did they basically just rewrite the whole OMD story so that Mephisto had nothing to do with it? Or did he still play a part in it?

@Amegashita:  As far as I know it has something to do with Doctor Stranger consulting Mr Fantastic and Iron Man about erasing Spider-Man's identity from the world using the same method they used to erase the identity of the Sentry from public knowledge, making this the reason Spider-Man's identity was erased , which is how Mephisto has presumably erased Spider-Man's identity. I presume that's what they do in the end but I don't read Spider-Man so this is all I know. Hoped that helped.

I didn't really care for OMIT. I was interested in seeing what actually happened in the past to alter Peter's future, but either than that I didn't really care. Now this origin of species arc, that looks good. One heck of a follow up. Go from a downer into a awesome arc.
