When two villains join forces against Spider-Girl, Spider-Girl suddenly finds herself joining forces with…her dad?
In the previous book, we had seen that Mary Jane returned May her spider-suit, which Peter had previously taken.
Now May is having a moment of rooftop swinging in the early hours of the morning. She has not felt such joy in a few weeks. Of course, her father does not know this. May returns home to have breakfast and gets ready for school.
May asks Mary Jane if this would be the right time to convince her fatherto let her follow in his web-lines. Mary asks her to be careful. This is when Peter comes in. May is about to launch her carefully prepared speech but her friend, Courtney Duran rushes inside. Courtney tells that Moose's parents have had Jimmy arrested for trying to kill their son. She breaks down but Peter promises to contact Jimmy's aunt, Sachy Yama, a famous district attorney.
At the courthouse, Jimmy is sitting with his parents and his cousin Zane ( J2 ), when Peter, May and Courtney arrive. They ask Sachy about the proceedings. But a great commotion draws their attention. Crazy Eight has appeared for trial. Moose tells May that Spider-Girl had once captured this freak, and May fells shivers.
May goes to the room where Crazy Eight will be judged, when suddenly Mr. Nobody teleports into the scene. He is here to help Crazy Eight escape. He throws a handful of gas grenades at the audience and gives Crazy Eight his ball weapons. Then they try to scatter the crowd by firing into it.
May changes to Spidergirl and tries to engage them. Moose suddenly has a feeling that Courtney is Spidergirl. May gets some help from her father, who is surprised at her sudden appearance. Together they tackle the two villains and manage to keep them at bay. Mr. Nobody calls out a plan no. 2 and fires into the crowd, while Crazy Eight tries to make his escape. But Spidergirl mangles a part of Mr. Nobody's suit, thus leaving unable to teleport. Elsewhere, Peter blocks Eight's path. Eight throws some of his weapons at Peter but he manages to throw them back, thus temporarily immobilizing Crazy Eight.
Later, Jimmy has been pardoned by Moose's family and his charges have been dropped. Peter calls May to accompany him home.
Darkdevil visits Kingpin in jail, telling him that Mr. Nobody has failed to free crazy Eight. He gives a sarcastic laugh and disappears.
At home, Peter goes ballistic. He expresses his anguish at May turning Spidergirl. He rebukes her for her actions. But suddenly his tone changes. He says that he was wrong to think that he could keep the truth about his life at bay forever. It is his duty to train May to become Spidergirl. May is ecstatic and gives her father a big hug.
