    First issues are always a great time to start a series.  It's logical and the whole 1st Issue! sticking out at you basically calls you to it.  Spider-Girl was picked up this week for exactly that reason and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the story.  For those familiar with Spider-Man's Grim Hunt arc will remember Anya as one of the "spider people" that was taken.  In terms of picking up this issue, if you have the funds and are interested in getting into a spider character that i...

    Just not Mayday 0

    Cover The cover is kind of cool and every single time something says first issue in big letters it tempts me to buy it. Story Spider-girl catches the Screwball but, this makes her late to school. Anya gets home to the new apartment and Sue Storm comes to visit and Anya’s dad cannot eat dinner with Anya because he is going to be working late at the library.     Spider girl gets her own Big Time as well 0

     Pros: So why should you give this girl a chance? She's not May Mayday Parker. She doesn't even have any powers. She can't really fight supervillains. The reason why you should is that in some ways, Anya is like a younger Peter Parker. To be more specific, she's like Ultimate Marvel Peter Parker. Paul Tobin carefully makes Anya a normal teenage girl without any superpowers, but with the skills of a well-trained superhero. She goes to school, fights crime taking down petty crooks, she makes jokes...
