Strange totems, omens of death, shadows killing in the dark… On the tracks of two twin killers, the untouchable Fortune brothers, Tex and his pardners find a message that a dead man received from a disappeared soothsayer: it’s about the kedaghe, the shadow-spirits… They start following, on the Oklahoma and Kansas prairies, the route of the mysterious “Indian Carnival”, a traveling fair with Native American artists and freaks… Are Shado, Coyote, Skeleton, the Spider Witch, Storm the knife thrower, the beautiful Tesan-Win, and all the others only harmless circus artists, however? What are they concealing? And what will happen to the innocent crowd in attendance, on a Sunday afternoon in October, during their show under the tent at the foot of Ghost Hill?
