Kurjak’s father is dying. Before passing away, he wants to see again the old Mostar bridge, destroyed during the Yugoslavian Civil War and recently rebuilt. Miklos Kurjak is linked to that old bridge by a romantic and adventurous memory of his youth. Emil accepts to fulfill his dad’s desire, putting him in an ambulance with two of his cousins, a nurse and, obviously, Harlan and Tesla. In midwinter, they set out on the journey through the Bosnian mountain roads. It will be a journey in the past for all the passengers, where each one of them will find out a link with the magical bridge, created by a magnificent craftsman who worked for the Sultan. Tesla will see again Gorka and Shrek, the Masters of the Night that made her an undead. Kurjak will meet his dead comrades-in-arms, and his thoughts will go back to war’s hard choices. And Harlan, facing his past again – from his first encounter with Yuri to his experiences as a vagrant dampyr – will be able to shed a new light on his destiny and on the forces that had always been scheming behind his back, until the final clash against one of his worst enemies...
