    What's not to understand?

I'm not sure why others don't understand this comic or think it's weird. This issue steps outside the Spawn world a little bit. It's more about creator's rights than it is about the Spawn storyline.

First off, the story is told by Dave Sim and Todd McFarlane through their characters. That's why it's "I am Spawn/I am not Spawn" Spawn is Todd McFarlane here.

Why is the comic in black and white? Because Dave Sim wrote Cerebus and that comic is entirely in black and white. Cerebus ran for 300 issues and is well worth the read!

The men in the black hoods are all the creators of comic characters who have sold their creations to other companies. Those characters are imprisoned here because the companies who own them now control them. Why are Spawn and Cerebus walking around? Because their creators still own them. When Cerebus takes Spawn to Kitchener (used to be called Berlin) that's Dave Sim's home town. When they go to Spawn's mansion it's more of a representation of Todd McFarlane's house and family. It's Todd coming home. Spawn is Todd and Todd is Spawn.

Why have this storyline in the first place? Image was founded on the idea of creator rights and this is them taking a look at the idea through their character's eyes.

See? Not so weird after all. One of my favourite stories in any series. My only complaint is that on the cover, it should have been spelled "Colour" since both Dave Sim and Todd McFarlane are Canadian. :p

      F*cking What? 0

This comic is really f*cking weird! We've reached our third and possibly final look at Spawn, and dear lord do we have a strange one today. Like our last two outings, we have a special guest writer, a fellow by the name of Dave Sim. Unlike the last two issues however, I'm not as familiar with this guy's work. All I know is that he apparently created some greaser Aardvark named Cerebus who appears later in this issue, and apparently, in preparation for this comic he and Todd McFarlane probably rai...
