A retro-double feature showcasing some of the hottest upcoming talents in comics, Space Doubles is presented in a flip-format with each half of the book telling an original sci-fi tale! Justin Robinson's 'Sympathizers' questions humanity on an Earth populated with aliens and robots, while Jason Hall's 'A Saucerful of Secretes' takes readers to a futuristic Earth where the internet allows everyone to be an entertainer and poor ratings equal death!
Saucerful of Secrets
Right from the off we are graced with the stunningly conceived art work that typifies this comic-book anthology series. Looking like something a pulp comic from the 40's and a GoldFrapp video the bold space adventure woman stands with over the top ray gun before her lemon-juicer with deco lines space rocket.
The tale behind it is not a bad one.. somewhat Gattica/Brazil-esque tale of futurist bureaucracy is somewhat flat that some how gets muted when it has little to do with such inspiring cover art (especially when every other stories cover art is story appropriate)
Sympathizers.
A bizarrely noir-ish tale of fish-men and robot invasion.
