An anticlimactic end
I haven't followed the news surrounding this book, so I don't know if this was the planned end or if it ended early because of some other factor. Either way, from a story perspective, the ending is not great. The story started off with a lot of promise, but maybe it spent too long getting to the end, so the climax just felt unsatisfactory. I don't want to be negative about this book, but the final chapter was dull and predictable. Travis and David had a confrontation with all other plot threads tied up. Travis' story echoes David's but Travis has a more anchored life. I don't find myself wondering what the future holds for Travis, I'm just left thinking "That's it?"
