    The film starts with Katherine Caldwell (Louise Allbritton) heiress to a New Orleans plantation, arriving home following a vacation in Hungary. But she has changed a lot, seeming obsessed with the occult. She is soon followed by a mysterious new husband, "Alucard". Frank Stanley (Robert Paige) , her jealous boyfriend, confronts his rival with bullets. But soon discovers the new couple does not die easily.

    The climax of the film has Katherine reveal she does not love Alucard. Marrying him was her way to achieve immortality through vampirism.
