Just like how I’ve run out of ways to say that casting announcements for X-MEN: FIRST CLASS are crazy, I think I’m running out ways to say that SMALLVILLE’s bringing back basically every character that’s ever appeared on the show. And I mean every single one. The latest “named name” come from EW, who’s saying that Alan Ritchson’s going to be back as “AC,” the lower-key version of Aquaman who was part of the show’s more down-to-Earth version of the Justice League. It’s been about a season or two since he was on the show.
Since there’s not much to go on here aside from saying that Ritchson’s returning, I figure I’ll bring the unrealized AQUAMAN show to the attention of you Comic Vine maniacs, as it might've swam under your attention. Back in ’06, SMALLVILLE creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar put together a pilot that starred Justin Hartley (the guy who eventually became Green Arrow on this show.) Though the show didn’t get picked up, it actually sold pretty well on iTunes, so who knows? The CW’s already saying they're looking for other DC characters to replace SMALLVILLE after it concludes next year. Maybe the man who talks to the fishes will finally get his shot at ridin’ solo? == TEASER ==
In related news, Splash Page has brought up an interview Laura Vandervoort did at Comic Book Movie about how she’ll be back on SMALLVILLE as Supergirl after a couple years' absence. The tidbits she’s revealed is that Kara will be wearing an outfit that’s more distinctly more "superheroine" and her whole “brunette wig” conceit is supposed to be giving Clark the big idea on how to handle his own secret identity. So, as the timeline usually goes in SMALLVILLE, Supergirl will actually be inspiring Superman.
