I do agree that the show based on its original concept should have ended after season 4 or 5 maybe. It would have better if they had renamed the show "Metropolis" or something like this since the show takes place there mostly. But I still like the show a lot.

I would like for the show to continue too, I mean I have been watching this show from the beginning and it is one of my favorites but with some changes.

This isn't about not liking the show, in fact, it's almost the opposite. This is about whether or not the show has gone on too long, and thereby ruining it. The only way to answer that question is by watching the entire show, and you don't do that unless you like it.
That said, I like the show. I think that the show could have ended around season 5 or 6 and be remembered much more fondly since I think the show went down hill rather quickly after that. I also think that a show called Smallville should not spend so much time in Metropolis. However, I think it got better in the last year or so, which means that it can end on a high note. So to sum up: Not too long but certainly not too short.
