Original Continuity: New Earth
When the planet Sklar was first reached out by the United Planets its population was introduced to its highly sophisticated technology. With low level technology on their planet the civilization rose up quickly by centuries, reaching levels the denizens of Sklar could not maintain on their own devices. This led its society nearly being destroyed by its own lack of understanding and coping skills with such high capabilities withy it newly found technology. It led to the world of Sklar being in the brink of chaos.
From here came the Sklarain Raiders, a team of female space pirates dedicated to obtaining high tech equipment and looting the member planets of the United Planets as vengeance for what they had brought to their home world. They believed that the technology which the United Planet bestowed on Skalr had put them in an impossible desperate need of stealing tech to continue to sustain the current needs of their world.
They unsuccessfully attempted to steal an experimental Hyper-Time Drive by ambushing the freight ship which was in route to drop off the equipment at the Time Institute. The Raiders were using stolen technology such as Force Beamers arms and Aerosleds during the raid. However members of the legion of Super-Heroes stopped them and took them into custody.
The Raiders next attempted to steal a computer bank which stored research of an experimental life extending serum. They traveled to the Life Institute on an artificial island anchored in the North Sea on Earth. They also raided Techos a biological lab on an asteroid which permanently orbited the earth itself, doing so with a tractor beam from one of their interstellar ships. After various encounters with the Legion of Super-Heroes and disastrous outcomes the government of Sklar and the Sklarian Raiders decided to change their course of actions. Soon they would renounce their attempts at piracy and becoming members of the United Planets.
However this was not to last as only a few years after joining the United Planets and making peace, the Slkarian embassy on Earth would be the return to their old ways. In the embassy based in Hong Kong the Sklarian raiders had embarked in smuggling frozen organs off planet. Using the Embassy as a front and having cargo-Bots to load the shipments into their awaiting freighters, no one was aware for months. But the Legion Espionage Squad headed by Chameleon Boy, had been keeping tabs on the Sklarian embassy and found out about the illegal smuggling operation. Transforming into a female Sklarian raider he was able to infiltrate the embassy and with the aid of his fellow Legionnaires stoped the operation. The United Planets would revoke the embassy in Hong Kong and the Sklarian government was but on probationary status.
In the Post-Zero Hour continuity, Kono does not join the team and remains a Sklar pirate, whom the Legion must apprehend. The Sklarian Raiders are reintroduced as female pirates from the planet Sklar, a matriarchal society where technological piracy is common. Brita's mother, a pirate, saved the life of the mother of Mysa Nal, known a s the Legionnaire the the White Witch.
