You Don´t Carry Savage Land in the Heart

Intended to be a follow up of the latest Incredible Hulks adventure in the Savage Land, this book exceeded all my early expectations and delivered a good pack of action, fun and interesting story, all that in the form of amazing art, creative narrative and quick intelligent dialogues. Many don´t know the treasures and perills of the Savage Land and even those who live there for their entire lives eventually will discover a few surprises are reserved and that´s the message of this first issue: the Savage Land isn´t savage just in the word, it´s truly savage, proving that even Ka-Zar and Shanna don´t know everything about it. The funniest thing is seeing Skaar get into all kinds of trouble, especially because it´s all after a brave or "I know it all" speech, making these scenes even funnier. I guess Rob Willians proved that he´s worth all the fuzz around him since he shaped an old idea (Savage Land) into something new, accessible to new readers, updated and all the intensity that he creates is put into life through the magnificent art of Brian Ching (also spectacular colors of Guru FX). It´s still early to tell if this is going to be a knock out miniseries, but if it can keep up with this first issue, this will be a memorable series indeed. Recommended for Ka-Zar and Hulk´s fans.

Cover: Main reason I bought this issue.  I was fearful that the interior art would look nothing like the cover, and while it doesn't, it's not a bad thing.  Really dig the way that Michael Komarck drew this piece.   The Good: I wasn't even aware this was coming out, but it only makes sense after his separation from his father in Incredible Hulks, and I couldn't be more pleased.  Regardless of what many may think, I feel that Skaar can make an interesting character with the right writers an...
