Occult Action in the Old West
What do you get when you combine Mike Mignola characters and the Wild West? You get some groovy action and storytelling.
The Good
I can't say I'm too familiar with the character of Edward Grey. What's weird is normally I don't like tales from the late 1800s. I was never really a fan of Wild West stories (except for Jonah Hex). Reading this comic is making me wonder if my tastes are expanding. The combination of John Severin's art with Dave Stewart's colors is something to see. There's almost something elegant about the art and the way Edward Grey is drawn. When he arrives in a town looking for a man, you really get a feel for the mood of the town and how dangerous things could get for him.Mignola and Arcudi set up the story that leaves you on the edge of your seat. Of course there's a cliffhanger at the end and it's a pretty crazy one. I may not know a lot about the character but I sure do want to know more now.
