    Opening in 13th Century Japan, Junan, master of the Daka-Ryu ninja clan, summons five elemental spirits in return for immortality. An opportunity granted by supposed ally, Ku, Junan along with most of his clan, are deceived and killed by these spirits. Upon dying, Haratsu Taganaga, second in-command behind former ninja master Junan, is encountered by Seishin, the spirit of life. Taking a vow to destroy the demons which ended the lives of family, friends and himself, Haratsu is resurrected to fight once again!

    Alluring concept, but dizzying execution 0

    Not a series I was previously familiar with, I unearthed this book in an inexpensive back issues bin. The cover captivated me; Japanese symbolism, wild hair, ninja swords, '95 dated on the cover - I'm in. After reading the first few ten pages or so, it was honestly not bad. Plot-wise, I was getting a lot of Spawn vibes, which I'm indifferent too, for I'm a fan of that series. The feudal Japan angle was refreshing enough to develop a separation though.
