Is it just me or does SInestro bear a heavy resemblance to the Nazi leader Adolf Hitler of WWII?
Sinestro
Character » Sinestro appears in 1189 issues.
Once considered the greatest Green Lantern in any sector, Sinestro came to believe that the only way to ensure order in the universe was through the reign of fear, a crime for which the Guardians banished him to Qward. There he created the first yellow power ring and later on founded his own corps, The Sinestro Corps. He has clashed frequently with his former student and protege; Hal Jordan. The relationship between the two is a complicated one, a mixture of both hatred and respect in equal measures.
Sinestro question
The character is based on the appearance of David Niven. However, the Sinestro Corps uniform, if I remember the Newsarama interview from 2007 correctly, is somewhat inspired by the Nazi style of uniform.....because Sinestro rules his Corps as a dictatorship similar to Hitler. Since the SCW though, I always do see more Hitler than Niven, but that may be due to the suit and interview than his face.
One's tall and slender, the other short and stocky. One has a long mustache, the other a very small one. One has his hair slicked back, the other parted on the side and hanging down his forehead.
Oh yeah, it's like their twins.
"Sinestro is the Space Hitler through and through. "

@yahweh: He just wants peace and order through control, if anything Thaal as misguided as he is admirable. Hitler was Batmansh*t crazy, anti-semitic, racist, and did I mention goddamn Batmansh*t crazy?
