I'm not saying he's not scary, he is. But...Does he really deserve to lead the scariest characters in the DC Universe? I don't think so. He doesn't seem to truly understand and embody fear as much as he seems to use it like his dad's gun which he stole or something. If anything he's more deserving of a Orange Lantern ring. Here are some DC Characters much more deserving of the title of leader of the Yellow Lanterns.

1) Arkillo~He is more committed to his cause, often resorts to terrifying tactics of torture and murder to get what he wants, cannibalizes people and eats failed recruits. HOW IS HE NOT THE LEADER!!'

2) Scarecrow~...Do I even need to explain this?

3) Batman~Batman's entire training, combat and personality resolves around fear...More so then Sinestro.

4) Doomsday~He has pretty much the entire galaxy on their toes in fear and terror. His very name seems to invoke fear and anxiety.

5) Anti-Monitor~See Doomsday

6) Cyborg Superman~See Arkillo

Seriously, THIS guy is the face of fear in the universe? Come on!

Arkillo - don't know much about, but if he's not trying to out Sinestro I think there has to be a reason.

Scarecrow - don't know.

Batman - he's a hero. Why would he lead a group that eats failed recruits (not fully serious but gets my point across)

Doomsday - no imagination to make constructs. Doesn't care about making people afraid, just causing destruction.

Anti-monitor - hella powerful on his own, doesn't need a Corps, and his point isn't to make people afraid, that's just a side effect.

Cyborg Superman - same deal as Doomsday and Anti-monitor. He's got his own motives.

Batman~Even still, it could be a different kind of Sinestro Corps, more like justice seeking galactic vigilantes

Doomsday~I could only assume he'd want people to feel the same pain that he's been through, so I think he'd be a great user

@spideyivydaredevilfan26: This reasoning is extremely flawed, especially since it implies you know little to nothing about Sinestro. Sinestro has an innate understanding of fear without access to the ring. He also has a mental link with his members due to his understanding of other character's fears so well. Sinestro enforced all the laws of Korugar, instilling fear and preserving order amongst his people. He has also shown to be one of the best in intimidation and torture and is a natural leader. He broke free of Star Sapphire's encasing crystal and nearly killed her if not for a timely intervention. Sinestro also defeated Mongul for the positon of being leader, even though Arkillo was beaten by him (not to mention having his tongue ripped out.) In the New 52, he has shown to be able to control Parallax, a feat accomplished by nobody before him.

Arkillo takes on a role similar to Kilowog. He is the drill sergeant and his appearance creates fear. However, fear isn't only about appearance but also about action. Outside of being a normal Sinestro Corps member (torture, intimidation, murder), he doesn't have much to show. There's little character development compared to Sinestro and he's been defeated by Kilowog twice.

Scarecrow doesn't have a chance compared to Sinestro, especially since he had his own temporory ring stolen by Lex Luthor. He does not have any leadership skills and is nearly completely immune to fear. He would definitely lose to Sinestro in a battle, especially since he is one of the most skilled lanterns of the emotional spectrum.

Batman was chosen for the Sinestro Corps but he was able to reject it due to his willpower and previous use of a Green Lantern ring. Also Batman would be completely overpowered, defeating the purpose of Batman itself. He is a vigilante that relies on his wit, resources, and skills. If he had a Sinestro Corps ring, it would literally defeat the purpose of there being a Batman. However, Batman would potentially be a great leader for the Sinestro Corps if he didn't have any principles and morals (such as the no-killing rule).

Doomsday instills fear but it isn't on purpose. His only purpose is to eradicate Superman, but doesn't have any imagination, skill, or even a personality. He doesn't have emotions outside of hating Superman. He isn't much of a character and has never had any character development.

The Anti-Monitor assisted the Sinestro Corps in the Sinestro Corps War, but overall, he doesn't have any intention of leading them. He doesn't match their agenda or goals but instead they temporarily worked together for a common goal, defeating the Earth. He doesn't care about instilling fear but rather about destroying all life. He's a god-like being, who doesn't really think about petty things like that.

Cyborg Superman wants to die. That's his only goal, to be eradicated from the face of the Earth. That is why he was also in Sinestro Corps War. He thought the Anti-Monitor could actually destroy him, something that Superman couldn't do, but sadly he survived. He takes revenge on Superman for creating this scenario where he would become this monster. His intentions have nothing to do with fear.

Overall, the only points you've made that are actually valid are that Arkillo is a skilled Sinestro Corps member, Scarecrow deserves to be a Sinestro Corps member, and Batman has had the aspirations to become the Sinestro Corps leader, all which I've proven why they aren't a fit to be leader.
