............................. simply amazing
Out of all the issues that naturally come into my weekly collection, none has simply forced me into such a story with both perfected artwork and storytelling. I admit that my anticipation was a bit off when hearing about this limited series being released, but I’m surprised on how Marvel could produce such a marvelous masterpiece that has me upset at the fact that the second issue isn’t already in my hands.
Of course DC comics likes to pull their colorful multi artist crew with most of their sci-fi titles such as the Green Lantern. But with Silver Surfer here, it’s seriously rewarding to see how the writer could display Norrin Radd with such convincing perfection. You can simply see how both Stephen Segovia and Greg Pak showed the Surfer simply fascinated at the life around him. Of course I had my doubts with the Surfer because of his constant state of depressive moods that really seems to drag with me in his recent titles, but in this issue you can clearly see how Pak supports Surfers mood after managing to save his former master Galactus.
Not the man to give away what’s inside or spoil the fun, but the flow of this comic is seriously one of the most smoothest that I’ve seen within many comics that I’ve read throughout my lifetime. Yet what has me at another loss is how Pak managed to place the High Evolutionary within this title. For me I see this guy as one of the most confusing villains within Marvel, and knowing about his appearance within this issue as the main villain really had me unsure because how I naturally see him juggled between good, evil, and mostly as a neutral form of character that quickly loses my interest. But that is far from what I expected with High Evolutionary here seeing how his rightful place within the storyline that instantly made him one of the most foul badguy’s within Marvel, and it was all in the name of science.
Overall, I love what Pak decided to do with the Surfer within this issue, I can clearly see how a complicating character like both the Surfer and High Evolutionary are in good hands with this limited series. But most of all, and yes I do mean the main theme of this comic, which was of course the artwork. With Segovia and his team of artists managing to bring out the very best within the Silver Surfer with their dynamic looks that possibly gave a whole new definition of comic artwork, I highly advise that this is one issue that MUST NOT BE MISSED.
Just about any respectful comic fan that reads this issue can clearly stress the fact that not having this comic added into your collection defines you as one who’s seriously missing out.
