    Origin

    The Silver Squad consisted of Ripster, Slambeaux, Twit and Purdy Larry. They were android bounty hunters formed by Silvermane to terminate Spider Man. The Silver Squad interrupted a carriage ride between Peter Parker and Mary Jane in Central Park with some gunfire. Peter Parker fell behind some bushes a few feet away from Mary Jane when she was greeted by the entire squad. They knew her husband was connected to Spider Man and they wanted his blood. Parker changed into Spider Man and confronted the group. Spider Man realized the group were androids when Slambeaux accidentally shot Purdy Larry in half during the firefight. All members of the Silver Squad were destroyed in the initial fight except for Ripster.

    Creation

    The Silver Squad was created by Terry Kavanagh and Alex Saviuk in 1991 and first appeared in Web of Spider-Man # 79.
