End Of The Run
The Mighty Avengers face off against the Absorbing Man, Ultron and eventually join the forces of other Avengers in the battle at Asgard.
My Thoughts:This marks the end of the Mighty Avengers series that has ran for a total of 36 issues. I like how Dan Slott brought back Absorbing Man in this final story arc. I thought was very fitting as he is a long time Avenger foe. The fight against him was probably my favorite part of the comic.
Ultron fans will probably enjoy his appearance. Personally I've never been a fan of Ultron so that portion of the story did little to excite me. Another high point of the story was when the Mighty Avengers had Loki held prisoner and Thor arrived. The dialogue between Thor and Hank Pym was well written. Definitely a stand out moment in the story as both heroes have been Avengers and teammates. Dan Slott's characterization for Thor was amazingly accurate.
The art was drawn by Khoi Pham who once again does a good job. I liked the way he portrayed all the characters while capturing the emotion and action so vividly.
In a way I'm sort of glad Marvel canceled this series. It's not like it was a bad series or anything, but it didn't exactly feel necessary. The series didn't exactly accomplish anything as none of the members in the final issue were members when the series began. There were times the series was mildly exciting and it is worth checking out for fans of superhero teams.
