Showcase '93 was DC Comics relaunch of the old Showcase series. Under this new format, each issue would contain three separate stories, with each issue starring someone from the Batman Family. Neal Pozner was the editor for the series, though usually Batman editor Dennis O'Neil would be a consulting editor on the lead Batman story. This new version of Showcase also featured a lot of up-and-coming new writers and artists who would go on to create other series. This Showcase reincarnation would continue on to Showcase '96.

Showcase '93 crossed-over with the Knightfall story arc in the Batman family of books for issues 7 and 8. Stars of this run include Blue Devil, Catwoman, Creeper, Cyborg, Deathstroke, Flash, Fire, Green Lantern, Huntress, Ice, Jade, Katana, Kobra, Nightwing, Obsidian, Peacemaker, Robin, Shining Knight, and Two-Face. Crime boss Ramon Bracuda also makes his first appearance, and becomes a recurring villain in the series.
