Not just comic history - American history.

Shock SuspenStories just kept the good comics coming in 1952. This issue features 'Just Deserts!' a fantastically well drawn crime story where the twist is a visual one, rather than a story one. The Big Stand-Up! is another standard E.C. sf tale, but this one is a bit better than the story 'Gee, Dad... It's a Daisy!' from last issue from a believability standpoint. 'Stumped!' and 'the guilty!' feature storylines that have become so common that they're predictable nowadays, but when you realize that they weren't things that were widely talked about in the 1950s, you begin to understand how great their impact must have been.

'the guilty!' is in fact one of the best remembered stories in E.C. history, and it's probably not an accident. The story is in fact quite likely to have actually happened at some point in the past.

These are not just comics history, they are American history.
