Delightful
I admit it: I was a naysayer on the art with the first teases of this series. Having the issue in my hand, however? I really like it.
I picked up this issue as a lawyer. Charles Soule is a lawyer, She-Hulk is a lawyer, and I am a lawyer. I wanted to see how this world translated into the superhero setting. Soule does a great job. I am afraid that some of the funnier moments were the pure legal jargon moments. The character Legal is hilarious. He is the embodiment of the legal system. His speech on the Stark brand is terrible and I hate that I could follow it - but that's what made it so funny. Why do we care about this? Because Legal cares, and he has to do everything in line. This may turn some people off. Or, it could open a window into this world. (Heaven forbid comics teach about life.)
The story itself is a fun, self-contained romp through a case. The stakes are high and the ending is satisfactory. We get a glimpse into what the future holds for She-Hulk. It was a nice set-up issue and I will certainly be getting the next issue.
