When we first meet Sexton he is a sullen young man typing out a suicide note on his computer. Sexton isn't suicidal due to depression or some tragic event in his life; he's suicidal because he just doesn't see the point in living. He's numb. His mother interrupts him, and shoos him out of the house so she can have a day of spring cleaning. Sexton goes to a nearby junkyard, where he has a chance encounter with a girl named Didi, who claims to be Death. Through various complications, Sexton and Didi enjoy a night to remember of danger and music. Eventually Didi dies, but Sexton realizes that maybe life is worth living.
