As news about SECRET WARS comes out, the bigger picture starts to flesh out more and one thing many Hulk fans were waiting for was news about one of its biggest storylines, 2006's "Planet Hulk," which tells the tale of a Hulk stranded on a planet where he's no longer the strongest being and he is forced to fight in gladiator battles for the Red King. During the run, Hulk rises up and becomes leader of the planet. Well PLANET HULK is coming to SECRET WARS, but it's a bit different than anyone would imagine.

this is a pretty freaking awesome take on Planet Hulk. I'm even more excited to see what will be done with the other stories involved in the "new" Marvel Universe. This is awesome, maybe we can get an Ironman too and call it Jurassic Stark.

I am really looking forward to this title. This is like Old Man Logan here, we're getting a fresh new idea for a comic book. Well I understand there are some reused elements... But still, it doesn't feel like the Marvel Universe I'm familiar with.

I hope it's as good as old man logan.

Wait, what? Now I'm getting a lil confused. So I thought these worlds were directly taken from Marvel's past, but I guess it's just taken from the multiverse. So it's not a piece of the Planet Hulk we knew but an alternate universe Planet Hulk? Where Cap was a Gladiator? I figured it would be like All New X men, characters ripped from the timeline. But I can dig this (the idea in general, think this book is a pass for me). Makes sense with the multi verse collapsing. And it keeps what happens on Battleworld from changing the history of events like Planet Hulk and Civil War.

Not the Planet Hulk im familar with, but i think i might check this out. the idea seems cool. plus we got the Real Cap and a Devil Dinosaur in it !!!

I like the Hulk Hulk Hogan on that other cover.

Now if there's anything that I would read from Secret Wars, this would definitely be at the uppermost part of my list. Right next to Armor Wars, Age of Apocalypse, and Old Man Logan.

BTW, has anyone read the CBR article for the Devil Dinosaur commentary?

Its a great name for a character too!, although when Hulk Hulk Hogan Hulks out around the other Hulks it could get confusing.

Here's my thoughts on this.

I don't like the idea of Hulks jobbing to an ax wielding Captain America and Devil Dinosaur. Hulks being threatened by dinosaurs and super soldiers is just plain stupid. Now, I can understand if these Hulks are more like the Hulked-Out A.I.Marines from Fall of the Hulks/World War Hulks who are strong but much, much weaker and lack the main attributes of true Hulks (intense healing factor, immense strength, invulnerability, etc.). But true Hulks-- Maestro, Hulk, Skaar, She-Hulk, Lyra, Red She-Hulk, A-Bomb, Red Hulk-- aren't going to be threatened or harmed by dinosaurs and puny men like Rogers wielding weapons.

I'll still be checking this out, but I have a feeling that it isn't going to amount to much, or anything at all. If anything, it almost feels like an insult towards Greg Pak's Planet Hulk & World War Hulk sagas. If that's the case, Marvel is only hurting themselves by alienating long-time fans and readers.

This could have been a great chance to have a world where Green Scar/Green King Hulk and Caiera the Oldstrong remained and ruled over Sakaar, building a vast galactic empire that's conquered every major alien race in the universe with the aid of the ancient Oldstrong-Shadow People, all the while raising their sons Skaar & Hiro-Kala. In the end, they bring justice and peace throughout the universe until the end of time.

Then they're thrown into Secret Wars. However, instead... we get this. It's very disappointing. In fact, disappointing could be a vast understatement in this particular case. I expected something a lot more promising.

Now, could I be wrong? It's possible. Could I be right? Also, yes. Could this series be fun? Perhaps. Could it also be downright horrible? I think that's a very possible scenario. All in all, it's one of those wait & see kind of things.

@greenscar1990: you DO know that in the mainstream universe there is only Hulk (Doc Green), She Hulk and Red Hulk? And mainstream She Hulk might die and be replaced by 90's She Hulk (just check out the A-Force cover)

He knows all about that. He and many hulk fans just want Hulk to have big fights and smash. Not with the help of Rogers of all people. Hulk mainstream been pure shit for years Doc Green started out cool until he started whining like a bitch. It's a cash grab and they should just name it Planet Rogers.
