    “DREAMS OF YOUTH.” R.J. Brande entertains children at a spaceport by telling them the fantastic origin of the Legion of Super-Heroes! “WHAT A WAY TO START THE NEW YEAR 1940!” features the Golden Age origin of the Atom!

    1. "The Dreams of Youth" written by Paul Levitz, penciled by Rick Stasi, inked by Dick Giordano, colored by Carl Gafford and lettered by John Costanza.
    2. "No Title" written by Roy Thomas, penciled by Mike Clark, inked by Bob Downs, colored by Carl Gafford and lettered by Jean Simek, Susan Kronz and Janice Chiang.
    3. "Secrets Behind the Origins:" 1-1/3 page text piece on the histories of the Legion of Super-Heroes by Peter Sanderson and the Golden Age Atom by Roy Thomas.

    Notes

    • The Legion of Super-Heroes story is in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Legion.
    • The story takes place in the year 2988, and it is centered on R.J. Brande, Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl.
    • The other characters have cameo appearances to include the splash page at the end of the story.
    • The Golden Age Atom story is based on the original story from All-American Comics #19 - #20.
