Deceipt and Midair strike
The tension is getting stronger as the plot thickens, and we see a Steve Rogers that is very new to the fans, with fists of rage and words of vengeance. At first I didn´t like very much Brubaker´s decision to add new characters into this series (like Shang Chi, The Prince of Orphans), since it wouldn´t allow giving more focus to the Secret Avengers´members, but as soon as I realize and settled that this book is more about Steve Rogers than the other members, I´ve learned to enjoy this very much. Brubaker isn´t worry in developing a deep and descriptive analyses of the characters, prefering in the opposite just to create an intriguing plot and good narrative with action and a theme (ambience) of black ops (and in doing that he uses this characters like War Machine, Ant Man, Beast etc, without having to get into characters background and descriptions, focusing more in the plot, so don´t expect that great changes and explanations in this series will happen, since it´s not the objective here). It was very nice seeing old John Steele (last time I saw him it was in Marvels Project, by Brubaker and Epting) and how this will play with Rogers. This issue was great for Deodato´s art and he really enjoyed doing this issue, you can see by the variety of pages schematics, the different size of panels, the playing with shadows, mixing white and black backgrounds, the details in the battles scenes are amazing and very complex, this is a great issue!! It´s also nice seeing Beast as the "brains" behind the team and seeing War Machine in action. This plot starterd (in issue # 6) a little cold and not really exciting, but Brubaker saved the best for last, so it´s highly recommended to purchase this issues or get in trade.
