If the specimen were deemed worthy, humanity would be allowed to survive and further achieve their potential. However if the Celestials did not fine them worthy they would be utterly eliminated.

The Celestials did arrive in the 1980's and the specimens from several past centuries were deemed worthy. Bridgit herself was evolved by the machinations of the Celestials into a Young God, she would forever go by the name Sea Witch. Able to transform her body into vast amounts of water, control water in the local vicinity, and swim unheeded in the depths of the Oceans.

Daydreamer became determined to halt his plans to reshape humanity's evolution. Highnote teleported the rest of Juniper's students to Earth so that they could oppose the High Evolutionary, and they fought his agents Quint and the Gatherers alongside Spider-Man. However, Katos came in pursuit of them with his half of the Young Gods and they fought each other. After Daydreamer accidentally harmed Calculus with her powers, the Young Gods all stood down.

Sea Witch, Caduceus, Highnote and Moonstalker investigated northern Ireland, and fought a band of terrorists. They located a mystical stone guarded by a creature from Sea Witch's dream, and Sea Witch destroyed it with a torrent of water. Sea Witch and the others were contacted by Daydreamer, who had found another one of the stones. Unable to contact the other four in Sri Lanka, they decided to rendezvous in Sri Lanka. Daydreamer seemingly granted Nauda's wishes, but she actually gave him illusionary stones. The Young Gods were reunited, and joined in a Uni-Mind to destroy Nauda.

War with the Eternals

After years of waiting on the silent and unmoving Celestials for a sign, the Young Gods go mad and descend into deviant behavior for the hopes of even the slightest acknowledgement. They then decide that the Celestials must wish for them to use their powers and act on their own. Upon deciding this, the group left the Celestials' spacecraft and returned to Earth, where they intended to use the consciousness of all humans on the planet to create a new Celestial.

They decide to start with the island nation of Madripoor and extend outwards. Upon learning of this, the Eternals, who were unaffected by the Young Gods' power to drain consciousness, encountered and attempted to stop them. Both Water Witch and her lover Highnote attempt to subdue the Eternal's Makkari and Sersi. Water Witch turns into a pool sized body of water and contains Sersi in an attempt to drown her. However Sersi defeats Water Witch by using her transmutation powers and turning her into silicon. Eventually, the Eternals convince Varua that the Celestials may have been testing them with their silence and coming to Earth may be the wrong choice. While Varua hesitates to ponder the possibility of being wrong, she is killed and Sea Witch and the other Young Gods who had not been killed during battle with the Eternals immediately fall to the ground, seemingly dead.
