Ok, so lately my weekly routine of after I come home from the comic store consisted of searching through my paper bag for the latest second Coming title but not this week, no no I had to check out "Sea Bear & Grizzly Shark" first. The cover of it just caught my eye as I scanned the wall of new issues in search of something new, now I'll admit I mocked it at first, but after reading the first two pages I was hooked.
What I appreciated most about the book is they didn't go and make hybrid versions of a Bear-Shark or a Shark-Bear, instead they expanded their playing field by switching their habitats which I felt was a fun idea. Sure it may not be a serious book but if you are looking for a book that pokes fun at the laws of nature and lots of gore check it out!
Its priced at $4.99 (at the size of two books with no advertisements) and is in black and white but both Jason Howard (Writer and Artist of Sea Bear) and Ryan Ottley ( Writer and Artist of Grizzly Shark) did such a great job you don't really need color, so I would give it a 4 out 5. Did anyone pick this book up? If so what did you think?
Sea Bear & Grizzly Shark
My local store sold out before I could grab a copy. I'll be in NYC for a couple of days and will most definitely try and pick one up. The simple fact that Ryan Ottley and Jason Howard are working on this makes it a winner in my book.
