Yesterday DC announced that Scott Snyder would be teaming up with Jim Lee on a new Superman comic. That's not the only announcement involving Snyder. Today, it was also announced that Snyder would be re-teaming up with Sean Murphy (AMERICAN VAMPIRE: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST) on a new Vertigo title: THE WAKE.

Beneath the surface, set amidst the claustrophobic yet beautiful and sweeping ocean-scapes, a discovery is made that will reveal a secret mythology. Full of suspense and horror, THE WAKE is an underwater sci-fi epic like none other.

What is THE WAKE about? Here's what Scott Snyder had to say about the project and working with Sean Murphy once again:

I couldn't be more excited about The Wake! This is a story Sean and I have actually been developing together for more than a year, a big, twisted, sprawling science fiction and horror epic, all of which begins with a single, terrifying discovery at the bottom of the ocean. It's one of the most ambitious stories I've ever done, and there's no one I'd rather be creating it with than Sean Murphy. Sean's a great friend and we had a blast together on AMERICAN VAMPIRE: Survival of the Fittest; luckily, he's also one of the industry's brightest new stars, someone with unrivaled abilities as a world-builder—every scene he draws is so fully realized, so richly imagined, it's hugely inspiring working with him, and I'm grateful to him for signing on to be my partner at the end of the world, here.

An excellent writer, and I eagerly await his new titles....but that's as much enthusiasm as I'll ever have.

Well, he has to have some magical powers (or else one Hell of a day planner) in order to organize 5 titles in writing, as well as help out line Talon.

Anyone who is wondering this is supposed to be a 12 issue limited series. I'm super excited for this, but I'm waiting for it to be collected.

Look I know it is just ypu're opinion but PLEASe don't overrate him. because people did that with Geoff Johns and Brian Michael bendis, Grant morrison etc. and now people have turned there backs and are on the Snyder bandwagon, which is fine but don't overrate him..especially as a GOD.

And also Writting 5 comics isn't much of a chore for snyder, most of his story's he has been wanting to write ever since he got interested in comics, he has the storys in his mind alresdy all he does his write it and send the script to the artist he is working with.

For Example: people like lets say Geoff Johns, doesnt have that uch time for he is CECO of DC and is writting 3-4 books soon. that's alot for what he has to do. but is he a god? nope.

I'm psyched for this after Snyder's descriptions. Have always enjoyed stories about the briny deep and this looks quite promising...like Aquaman on PCP or something. Deity, thy name is Snyder. Kudos to you sir for all the great stuff you do!

DC Comics announces that Scott Snyder is going to be writing every title. how long until that? Snyder is great, but his work will start to suffer eventually.

I love underwater horror storys (Jaws. The Abyss, The Deep, Sphere) and I love Vertigo, and I love Snyder. So I'm in.

Well, he said he's putting A.Vampire on hiatus for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if he drops either Swamp Thing or Batman soon too, 4 titles every month is a lot.

I hope I'll be able to fit this into my budget. There are so many comics that I want it's becoming a bit ridiculous.
