The second of the evil exes who need to be vanquished in SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD is Lucas Lee, a skateboarder cum movie star played by real life movie star, Chris Evans. Following that, what better evidence if there of an actor’s stardom than a slew of posters for his movies? Gathered here (thanks to Empire) are some faux posters from the SCOTT PILGRIM production design team, demonstrating how Lee’s filmography includes forays into cheesy thrillers, overly-serious actioners and sappy romance. If you hadn’t surmised from HOT FUZZ, SHAUN OF THE DEAD, GRINDHOUSE and SPACED, Edgar Wright’s pretty savy when it comes to goofing on movie clichés, even those layng in the minutia of one-sheet design.
One last thing I’ll note is that this some of these look like they’d be ripe for feature length parodies in themselves, which reminds me of how some producer supposedly called Robert Altman after watching THE PLAYER, asking him if the rights to the intentionally-stupid fake movie in that flick were actually available.
