Biography

Johansson was born in New York as the elder of twins. Initially a stage performer, she made her film debut at age 14 in the Elijah Wood movie North. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 2, 2012.

Rebecca Doppelmeyer

Scarlett Johansson's first role in a comic book film was in 2001, where she played Rebecca Doppelmeyer in the film adaptation of Daniel Clowes' Ghost World. The film was well received by critics, and nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 74th Academy Awards.

Silken Floss

In 2008, Johansson starred alongside Samuel L. Jackson in the Frank Miller-directed film, The Spirit, which is based on the Will Eisner series of the same name. She played the villainous Silken Floss, an accomplice of the Octopus.

Johansson is likely best known for her role as Black Widow / Natasha Romanoff in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, debuting in 2010's Iron Man 2, which was also the character's first appearance on the big screen.
